CHAPTER 8:

Riya and Shree went inside the home. They started arranging the home. There was not much to do in the home, as he was staying alone. So they went to the bedroom. Shree allowed her to go ahead.

There was a marriage photo on the bedside table. They kept it in a bag. She went towards the almirah. She opened a door. All his daily wear was neatly arranged as she had arranged a few weeks back. She went to the next door. She remembered that she didnt arrange that part. When she opened it she gave out a small gasp.

Roshni's dresses were neatly hanging on it. As if used daily. It didn't show any trace out not been touched. On one cupboard, was a bundle covered with a silk shawl. She carefully opened it. Roshni's saree that she wore on her marriage was kept in it. Together with that there were 2 boxes. She opened first one. It had Roshni's mangalsutra, her bangles, and a few jewelry. Riya's eyes were overflowing. Shree came by her and held her shoulder supporting her. She didn't want to open the next box. But something in her made her to open it.

Inside the box was a card, with red roses on it… it had a beautiful lines on love… she took it and opened it. "Happy Birthday Riya…. Will You marry Me…? Love, Arjun" she couldn't control her sob. Then she saw a small box, in it there was a solitaire ring. She lost all her control. Shree supported her to the bed.

"Riya…. Sambhalo apne aapko… please…"

"kaise Shree… itne din mein ye maan rahe the ke wo kabhi bhi mujhe propose nahi karenge… lekin wo mer bday ke wait kar rahe the… jo 3 mahine baad aaraha hai… patha nahi kabse wo uss din ka wait kar raha tha… I terribly misunderstood him…" she was hysterical. Shree supported her. She cried for a long time… and he gave her the support. After a while they packed all the materials and went to hospital.

She was avoiding Arjun. He noticed it. "maybe she is fed up with me… shayad wo sirf apne seniors ko maan rahe hai.." he misunderstood her.

Evening:

Arjun and team reached his home. he went in and was really confused.

"Arjun are you alright?" Rathod asked a confused Arjun. He was getting irritated.

"please stop it… baar baar ye math pucho… I'm not a kid…" though he was angry, others were pleased. He saw it. "what?? Yaha pe koi comedy chal rahe hai kya?"

"Kuch nahi Arjun…. Tumhe kuch yaad ho na ho… tumhare gussa waise ke waise hi hai…" Rathod had a smile. Arjun rolled his eyes.

He went to each and every room touching the belongings. Riya was following his every step with her eyes. He came near to a place, which earlier had his photo with Roshni. It was not there now. He stood there for a while. "yaha pe kuch tha kya?" all were surprised. "kyu?? Kuch missing hai waha pe?" Rathod was getting anxious.

"patha nahi… lagthe hai yaha pe kuch tha… is wall mein kuch markings hai…" all were so happy. Atlast they could see small shadow of their old ACP Rawte. They looked at each other and smiled. "patha nahi Arjun" he nodded and went in. Riya was so happy.

It was getting late. "Sir… hum sir ko yaha akele kaise chod sakthe hai… wo abhi bhi normal nahi hai…" Chotu whispered to Rathod, but it was heard by Arjun. He was fuming.

"mein paagal nahi hu… jo normal nahi hua hai… aur naahi mujhe kisi ke support ke zaroorath hai… SAMJHE YA SAMJHAU…."

All were too shocked to hear his words, that they stood numb. Riya had tears in her eyes. Arjun saw their shocked faces. "kya hua? aise kya dekh rahe ho?? Ab aap sab kab normal hoge?"

Rathod stirred. "kuch nahi…" he was so happy. But he knew how to control the condition. "tumhe aise gussa hone ke zaroorath nahi hai Rawte. Chotu teekh keh raha hai… tumhe kuch din help ke zaroorath hai… aur isiliye meine faisla kiya hai ke Riya kuch din yaha tumhare saath rahenge."

Arjun tried to object. But Rathod spoke in between. "request nahi kar raha hu… its an order…" he had his chief-face on. Arjun was fuming. "Order dene se pehle apne officer se puchlo ko usse yaha rehne mein koi thakleef hai ke nahi…"

"nahi Sir… no problem… I'll stay here." Arjun was shocked. He had expected her to object. Now he was more angry. "ok… mere zindagi mein legtha hai ke mein ab koi decision nahi le paunga… jo tumhare marzi… karo…" he went in.

All sighed in relief. "thank God… wo bilkul badle nahi hai… wahi gussa… wahi dialog… baap re baap.. ye Arjun Sir tho Arjun sir hi rahega…" All smiled at Chotu's dialog. They were relieved.

Shree took Riya to her home. After a while, she came back with a bag. She also brought the bag that had his memories and kept it safe in her room, inside the cupboard. All went back.

Arjun and Riya got fresh. For the night they ordered food. After the dinner, she saw him missing. She looked for a while and saw him standing out looking at the stars… there was a lone tear in his eyes…

"kya hua Arjun… aise kyu khade ho?"

"patha nahi Riya… bohot khali mehsoos kar raha hai… mujhe kuch bhi yaad nahi hai… mein kaun the? Kya the? Kuch bhi nahi…"

"its ok Arjun… sab teekh hojayega…" she held his shoulder and turned him to her. She was heart broken seeing his gloomy eyes. "I promise sab teekh hojayega…"he went close to her and hugged her. She was shocked first, but was so happy to be in his arms again… she stayed there holding onto him… he woke up after a while and backed off. "sorry… patha nahi mein kya soch raha tha.. I'm sorry.." he was embarassed.

"its ok Arjun… It ok.. we are friends right?? Aur ek friend hi ek friend ko support karenge na?" he smiled at her and they were relieved.

"tell me Riya… mujhe ETF ke baare mein bathao… hamare work ke baare mein… mere baare mein…" she was so happy to share the memories it him, but had to knowingly avoid their relationship. Arjun was happy to know more… he asked doubts frequently. She was glad to answer him.

It was late. They never noticed the time going by. "oh god… 1 baj gaye… chaliye.. its late… aapko sona chahiye…" she pushed him inside the home. But he wanted to talk more. "aaj nahi Arjun… we will speak more… I promise.. but not today…ok …good night…"

"Ok good night…" he was about to go to his room when he stopped her. "Riya.. ek favour karoge?"

"ha bolo.."

"kya tum mujhe kal office leja sakthe ho?"

"Final" exams... next 6 months only project... no exams...😆😆

had one of my biggest jhatka yesterday...

I used to carry all my FFs in my pendrive, so that I could write even when I'm in clg.. never thot of copying it to lap.. frm yesterday night my pendrive is not being detecting...did something.. got it for 5 minutes and copied it some how... now the pendrive if fully out...😭

don't know what I would have done...
