Chapter 16

Sonia watched the armed guards complete the rounds. She wanted to have a cigarette but remembering her promise she played against the railing thinking how the tune would sound on her piano. Karan noticed from afar her tension. He went upto her and offered her a cigarette but she shook her head. Karan was going to light one but seeing sonia's expression he kept it in his pocket. She asked "everything is ready?" karan nodded his head. She did'nt say anything just continued to tap against the railing in a rhythmic tone wondering whether they had got clues by now. Sonia picked up her phone and dialed the number she knew now by heart. The phone got picked on the second ring. sonia smiled and said "hello acp. How are you feeling?"arjun gripped the sides of a table unable to control his temper.

Son: tch,tch acp. Seems like you are not in a mood to talk to me. No problem I will talk to your partner. Hello acp rathore.

Sam: hello sonia.

Son: wow, acp R. your voice is too sweet. No wonder girls fall for you.

Sameer held arjun's shoulder before he retorted anything back. Shree trace had already began. Inspite of his fear he believes that they will save their team.

Son: you know acp. I always wonder what is it that makes this team so special? So special that my boss wants to destroy you.

Sam: boss.

Kar: yes boss. We are just pawns in his game. Like you are the boss of this team we have a boss of our team. Its like a cricket match you know. opposing players.

It was now sameer who gripped the table to steady his temper. He gritted his teeth and said "what are your demands?"

Son: oh... no acp. We don't have any demands. In fact we have decided to give you an easy way out.

All three of them looked confused at each other.

Son: you see after lots and lots of begging I finally convinced them to not place any demands. Instead of that we give you a choice. So acp rawte, acp rathore and specky sen you have a choice. Either you leave your team members to die by a bomb blast which will happen within 20 minutes or you come here and die with them within 20 minutes. Arrivederci

The phone got cut. Shree traced the call to an abandoned warehouse at the outskirts of the city. It was 10 minutes distance from the office. They immediately left and sameer called bomb squad while on the way. They reach the warehouse within 5 minutes. They saw that aisha, liza, chotu and sakshi were tied to a post with the bomb attached around them. Shree, sameer and arjun started to try to remove the bomb or defuse it ignoring the pleas of the 4 of them to leave. But they were unable to remove it or defuse it.

After 15 minutes,

A huge blast sounded shattering the ears of sonia, karan, abdul and khala. Abdul with a grin said "they came to wipe us off. And they ended with a blast." Abdul, khala and karan went to their cars. Sonia continued to stare at the site where the smoke is rising. A small tear came down her eye which she did'nt bother to wipe. She put on her sunglasses and smiled a grim smile and went to the car. Karan started the car and all the 5 cars drove away.
