It will be a long, long time to even expect world famous designers to sponsor clothes for Tamil stars. Wouldn't it be really rad when that happens! With all the rapid pace of westernisation going on in India, couldn't we expect it to happen sometime in the far future at least?

But what I meant in my earlier post, was the concept itself.
In India, Raymond's or whoever the design store is, including individual designers themselves who are plenty in India, could do that for the stars right now - in return for product recognition, atleast amongst (upwards of ) the upper middle class being the target.

Yes, I agree with what you said. All serial Producers must be held responsible for ending serials abruptly, when they wind up without tying all loose ends. Recently, more and more serials are being terminated this way - even Manaivi I remember had some plots unsettled.

But I think the award must definitely go to Selvi's Radhika for keeping so many gaping holes, when the serial ended. Even for argument's sake let's say, she's going to address some of this in 'Arasi' - then why call this a new serial, simply the character 'Arasi' could have been an extension/character in Selvi serial itself. Only the powerful ones know, what was the hurry in finishing off Selvi and starting a new one as a sequel to Selvi.

What I don't understand is, with so many viewers complaining about Selvi's abrupt ending in magazines, web/ some sort of media, how come Radaan continues to get so many commercials for their serials? Still they must have a lot of viewership or a bunch of good marketing people at Radaan. If she continues this way, I think viewership might reduce, as you said the emotions by characters are so predictable and therefore gets boring eventually.

Jenim - Question! Do the celebrities from North get sponsors for their clothes? I heard from my mum that some of the celebrities from South do not return the clothes to the sponsors who sponsored them for the movies. They in turn take it home. How much a nice suit and shoes will cost? With the salary they are making per movie/serial they can afford a decent suit to wear.

Once I saw a director (if I am not mistaken, C Sundar) with the most dirtiest jeans I ever seen with slippers and went up to the stage to receive an award. I was wondering where was the wife, for sending her husband to the stage in clothes worst than a street beggar. Normally, I won't encourage giving money to beggars, but I would have gladly given some to the director.. Seriously. 😡

I agree about Shalini & Ajit, Surya, Vikram, why Vairamuthu, are some of the people who has some fashion sense. Balachander never grew up from his bush jacket. And brown one too. 😃

Going to temple in nightie!!!!? OMG 🤢 🤢 🤢 Some education should be given to the directors/actors/actresses. WE can ape the west, but there should be a limit to it. We should know what to wear for each function. Even the West wear suitable clothes for different functions. Those of you who are staying in overseas like UK/US, will note that your friends will wear fashionable clothes to church. Jeans is the last thing in their mind to wear to church. But in India, it is the first thing in their mind. Quote from South Indian celebrities - What is your favourite sense of dressing? Answer - I like wearing jeans. I am so comfortable in it. In Arasi serial, I think GJ should get a new dress styler, I cant stand his cloths, in today's episode his pants and shirt was disgusting to see, they try so hard to creative a image like "wanna-be-cool" for him 🤢, but the one who takes the cake is Maddy from Kolangal serial. The tight jeans and disgusting t-shirts he wear.....OMG 🤢 🤢

I used to like Amitha aka Mayas cloths. She did wear nice salwars.

Yeah.. Caryn, film stars/models and even Pop Celebrities get their clothes sponsored for events in Bollywood. Sometimes, the designers even give those away as gifts. I remember reading for Saif Ali Khan's wedding several years ago, they got to keep their wedding clothes as the designer gave it away as a gift !!

Recently, I read that a beautiful, beautiful, gorgeous Indian wedding outfit costing a fortune, is already designed by a top notch Indian designer for Ash's wedding (even without her asking for it). Now the designer hopes she would wear it on her wedding day!?

Something, I gotta say..not that I've got anything against her.. In a recent picture for a audio release function, Trisha and her Mom were there. Her Mom was wearing a impeccable designer white salwar which was so dignified and guess what?? Trisha came in micro minis and sleeveless top totally looking a slut that we see in some of the malls/dance floors. I've seen Shreya (Thiruvilayadal) in some short dresses in functions, but they were not that bad like Trisha's denim micros. I read in magazines that these female stars dress up as slutty as they can, to attract the attention of Directors/Producers/Heroes etc., May be it's true.. but can't one achieve the same sexy look by wearing gorgeous saress with attractive blouses (spaghetti strap et al)?

BTW, going to temple in nightie, may be is yet to appear in serials. I was talking about real life women doing that!! Shocking aa irukku ille?
