Anuj's outburst is reasonable and understandable

It's honestly understandable why Anuj was so attached to CA. She's the only one he could call HIS family in a true sense. Anupama was away for a long time, constantly tending to unnecessary Shah matters. And people who say he only fostered her and didn't adopt her yet, well obviously they intended to adopt her and he never thought her biological mother would just show up one day since he was told she's an orphan. It's something that no one could have predicted so of course in his head, they had already adopted her. And Anuj has no one he can call his true family or friend, which is evident today with the complete lack of support for him and no one to understand his emotions, and how they all just gang up to attack him. His bhaiya and bhabhi already betrayed his trust and Anupama could never prioritise him, so he found solace in his daughter, who loved him and to whom her parents were her whole world. She even took care of Anuj when he was recovering, while Anupama left to celebrate her Poti's functions. So he obviously got very attached, very fast. And please let's not do the blood vs adopted debate here because that's disgusting and irrelevant, especially for someone like Anuj who lost his family and was adopted himself, and what he feels towards orphan children.

I don't think Anuj's outburst is because of Choti leaving alone. It's pent up frustration from all the times him and CA were neglected and left alone so Anupama could serve the Shahs. The whole dance competition and then New Years thing and basically everything after their marriage, the whole clan moving to his house only to insult their daughter, Baa not even allowing CA to go near Pari and mistreating her etc. Anuj should have opened his mouth each time and stopped it/done something but he was in such a "Meri Anu bilkul sahi hain" mode that he never said anything. And now everything's added up to amount to what seems like an excessive outburst. And I agree, Anupama came with baggage, has three kids etc. but I don't think anyone including Anuj would have expected it to be this bad. People do change to some extent when they get married. No other divorcee in the world will keep going back to their ex's house and especially, their kitchen. She goes back only to make tea for all of them, cook etc. even though she was supposed to go just for Toshu. She stayed back to make khichdi for Baa even though she had to go get her daughter ready for the dance competition and they were already late. Her daughter had a panic attack and was only calling for her parents, but she stayed back with Pari, who had other people around her who can do the same thing. She not once called out Baa, apart from saying "Baa Baa" when she constantly insulted CA. And again, while I do agree adoption should not have happened so soon after marriage, Anupama could have said no. Anuj may have been disappointed but he would've gotten over it and it's FAR better than what's happening today. It's her people pleasing nature and the need to be mahaan that's led to all this. And Anuj constantly took care of CA, he in fact took all responsibility himself and only wanted her to be there to spend time with and bond with the kid. Even the dance competition was so they could spend time together as a family, he never wanted CA to feel like Anupama didn't care for her. Devika's dialogue today was so out of place, I mean she went and undertook the responsibility of being the maid and nanny in Shah House instead of spending time with her husband and daughter! This man just wanted her to enjoy and have a good time with their daughter, spend relaxing time for herself also, away from all the negativity. And that is termed as "bacche ki zimmedari" when she should've been relaxing?? Where was she relaxing LOL. He was happy to take up the duties as long as she just spent time with CA but nope, she had to tend to her useless children's problems (not talking about Toshu's paralysis here) and the Shah house kitchen.

And the whole Maya situation, Instead of locking Anuj up and forcing him to accept a decision, she could've made him understand, told him the truth and let him attempt what he wanted from his end as well if he insisted. At the end of the day, they are parents together. She can't make decisions on her own again and again, which is all she was doing from the time Maya entered the picture. She didn't even let them do a DNA test! She could've at least let him speak to CA, so he would hear from her own mouth what she wanted, that would've helped him accept it better (although it would be a lie since she clearly wants to stay with MaAn) than just her saying no and forcing him to accept it. She didn't let him talk to CA at all.

And let's not even get to Maa's handling of Anuj. Can she not open her mouth and speak properly? Tell him how much he and CA mean to her, WHY she let Maya take CA, how she knows her mistakes and wrong prioritization, how she's realised what she has done wrong also. Instead of reassuring him or just sitting with him in his pain quietly, she forces him to go to the SHAHS to play Holi, pretend everything is great and be happy and goes "Mujhse pyaar nahin karte, main pasand nahin hoon, MAIN MAIN MAIN" I mean SHUT UP LADY. At least for a while, deal with the absence of CHOTI. Talk to Anuj about that, try to understand what he's saying. What a self absorbed narcissist. Anuj's only mistake was that this outburst happened in a public place, but I don't think he could control that. She kept pushing his buttons and provoking him, she's been an awful wife and mother, and there's nothing that can redeem her other than true introspection and a change in behaviour. But that'll never happen of course because she is the Mahaan Maa and always right.

Honestly, I have so much more to say but no patience to type any more. So this is it for now. I think I'm going to stop watching this show because they're going to butcher Anuj's character even more and make him grovel and apologise and make Maa Mahaan. They won't show her introspecting her mistakes, learning from this, giving the Shahs what they deserve and shutting them up for good, supporting Anuj and working on their relationship which involves more than dancing and singing to each other. And this absolutely doesn't mean I support Anuj, he is an idiot and it's his behaviour with her in the past that's led to this in the first place. Just that one sympathises with a DEPRESSED person who is surrounded by snakes and a narcissist wife who is only concerned about herself right now.

Anuj clearly also said that he has no love left, beacuse he also understands his failures. He is the living example of how the perception versus realities are very different. This was his first marriage and he accomodated Anupamaa to the highest extent.

Unfortunately Anupamaa does not understand or pretends not to understand the gist of the issue and will continue to play victim card. Its plain emotionally manipulative behaviour 😪 😔

Agree with you. Very well written. She wasn't even listening to what he was saying, like you said she kept talking about herself. It was so frustrating. At least try to UNDERSTAND him.

But where I didn't agree with him was his perception that grief has to be outward. That if someone isn't crying uncontrollably, getting angry etc or something else that's visual/on display they're not grieving. That's extremely incorrect. Everyone processes and reacts to grief differently.

@Kabhi18 - Yeah the reasoning they gave for him being so angry was really stupid. I think if they start giving him dialogues that make 100% sense and that have no defense, no sympathy can be invoked for Bechari Maa. If he starts spitting out all the facts, everything that's happened since they got married, and the true reason for this outburst, even devi bhakts may run out of justifications. So they're giving him stupid dialogues like you're jealous I loved Choti more or you don't LOOK sad enough. But her going to celebrate Holi with the Shahs so soon after CA left, while Anuj was in this state, is unacceptable even if she pretends her happiness was all fake. She could've organised a small holi function at home with only the Kapadia family to cheer him up in a small way.
