Circumstances forced Anupama to drop her education. She gave up her America dream due to Pakhi. Since Pakhi spoke of the west and how dating was okay Anupama gave her the example of children there being independent .Adhik Mehta is raised by his sister. She is banking on Anuj. Adhik is clear he is trapping Pakhi to push Anuj and Anupama in a catch 22 situation.

Neither the Shahs nor the Mehta's( let's for now call Barkha a Mehta) are in any position to support the duo.

Both have lied to their respective family that they are with friends. Even if Pakhi backed off without getting intimate what was the need to be so desperate? As it is Barka keeps ranting that her innocent brother was trapped. Why mess up with her life ? Samar seems to be thinking twice about his marriage despite Babayagas efforts. Pakhi seemms not interested in studies or career etc

She wants to marry rich boy and enjoy life shopping and being house wife
