Hello there from the la la Land,

It had been a long time since I got the chance to present my writing!

I wanted to write something else, but this turned out on its own! Presently, anything would do for me to move past the writer's block. So yeah! Be a little considerate with this one.

MaAn OS : Haqiqat

This had been a new norm for some time now, Anuj's eyes to be stuck on Anu. Either if they are flocked by a dozen of people who look for opportunities to tease them or if they are alone. Like now. In his apartment.

Apparently, Anuj had contracted flu from guzzling glasses after glasses of ice-cold water during their engagement function. His unceasing sneezes over the video call after the function had brought a rather worried Anu to his apartment at this hour of the night. His heart was full with her care.

Anuj's relentless gaze was so unnerving that Anu had to excuse herself to the kitchen on the pretext of making her special Kaadha for him. The actual purpose for which she came.

Much to her chagrin, the man with his unwavering gaze followed her to the kitchen. As if he would budge.

Had it been any other day, she'd have enjoyed Anuj's presence beside her perched on the kitchen counter looking at her intently. But being his official fiancee of 2 n a half hours, her senses were stuck at the moment he slipped the shining solitaire ring on her finger with the biggest smile plastered on his face.

Anuj didn't have the heart to let his fiancee slip away from his eyes even for a moment. He always had his eyes for her simplistic beauty, sometimes obscured behind her awareness and other times openly. But today, there was more than just admiration in his gaze. There were desires, intensity of something deep swirling within, a sense of belonging.

He was a goner the moment he had seen Anu's reflection in the mirror when he went to bring her for the ceremony. She was gorgeously decked in a pink and grey tie-dye saree paired with a heavily embroidered salmon-colored blouse. Her hairs were set in an elegant bun embellished with his favorite gajra.

She looked as if walking into reality right from his cherished dream of the longest time. He didn't know whether it was just a fluke of luck or a planned reality from Anu. He is not interested in knowing either.

Anu was still scampering around him in his small kitchen in the same saree that had enticed him the whole evening. She probably didn't care to change before running to his aid. In a way, he was happy about that. He could admire the simplicity of this woman without any make-up and jewelry, with her long hair being carelessly left open.

The woman he had loved from afar for 26 long years, and closely for 6 months.

The woman who belonged to him now! Only him.

His Anu!

Involuntarily, his gaze dropped down to the brightly shining metal on her slender finger as she extended her hand to put some sugar on the partially boiled extract of various medicinal leaves. And then on her face. She looked nervous and fidgety.

He's aware of the way he's ogling her with probably the most transparent desires reflecting on his face. But his eyes seemed to have lost the function of blinking or even looking away. He can't help it today.

She was his and he has all the right on her! For a lifetime to come.

He had to keep reminding himself of the fact to make himself believe in it, to etch it deeply in his mind.

Giving up on her umpteenth attempt to ignore the effects of his intent gaze on her, Anu rebuked, "Kya dekh rahe hai?"

Anuj responded with a goofy grin. Holding her elbow, he pulled Anu towards him and closed her in between his thighs. The sudden jerk startled her for a moment before giving way to an alluring blush.

He savoured the pretty color by running the back of his index finger tenderly over her cheek.

Pushing back a long lock of her hair behind her ear, Anuj breathed in a whisper, "Dekh raha hu, jab andekhe Sapne, Sacchai ka Laal Ghoonghat odh ke saamne aate hai toh kaise lagte hai." He continued to caress her reddening cheeks more sensuously while she downcasted her shy-filled gaze.

Bringing her left hand to his mouth, he placed a soft kiss over her engagement ring, saying, "Itni Khubsurat haqiqat ki Kalpana toh maine kabhi sapne me bhi nahi ki thi, Anu. Sach kahu toh, vishwash hi nahi ho raha hai."

Encircling his arms around her waist ever so gently, he tugged her closer. Anu's hands rested over his shoulders.

Dropping down his forehead over her shoulder, he continued, "Vishwash hi nahi ho raha hai ki meri Preet ke yeh rang bhi ho sakte hai. Maine toh sirf intzaar aur tadap dekha tha. Yakeen hi nahi aata ki tum.." he placed his parted lips over her shoulder, just near the margin of her blouse, mumbling over her bare skin.." Tum Anu.. Tum meri hone wali ho."

Anu didn't only hear those words but felt them running through her veins. She shivered under the tenderness of his touch and the intensity of his words.

"Khushiyon ki dhund ne Khwab aur haqiqat ke fark ko dhundla sa kar dia hai. Darr lagta hai, kahi jab yeh dhund hategi toh.." he tightened his hold around her.. "..toh Khwabon se jada haseen yeh dunia bikhar na jaae. Dil chodo, Meri toh jaan hi nikal jaaegi." That's when she felt a little dampness around her back.

Anu enclasped her arms around his back, protectively, herself shuddered with the thought of losing this reality. Nestling his face over her chest, she cradled him like a baby, her own eyes misty with the depth of his longing for her.

"Kuch bhi kehte hai aap, Anuj! Dobara kabhi aesi baat mat kahiyega. Mai yahi hu, aapki zindagi me, aapke ghar me, aapki.." she hesitated for a moment with the words her brain provided, "...aapki bahoon me. Aapki Anu!"

That did put up an endearing smile on Anuj's lips.

Loosening her embrace, Anu slightly pulled him back to be able to look squarely in his eyes. Cupping his solemn-looking face in her hands, she asked, "Aapko kya lagta hai, mai reh paaungi ab aapke bina? Meri puri zindagi me sirf aap ek aese insaan hai jinhe maine apne lie chuna hai. Aur ab aapke bina toh mai 26 saansein bhi nahi le paaungi, Anuj."

He looked deep into her eyes, too surprised to hear Anu expressing her love with so much conviction. Her usual coy gaze was fiery, and it only made him fall for her, again.

Clasping her hands above his cheek, he brushed his lips over her palm, saying, "You know Anu, Gk kehte hai Sagai matlab Aadhi Shadi. Magar Aadhi toh kya, jab humari puri shadi bhi hojaaegi tab bhi shayad mujhe yakeen na ho ki Tum meri ho chuki ho. Nobody can make me believe it." He chuckled at his own unrealistic thoughts.

"Mai koshish karu?"

Before his puzzled brain could make sense of her straight yeh cryptic words, he felt the softness of the lips forming those words. On his lips.

After taking a momentary pause against his stock-still parted lips, Anu glided her lips over his and sucked over his upper lip, clumsily. Definitely an unskilled and cloddish attempt from her, but still an attempt.

She had completely entrapped him by flushing her body against his chest, so much so that he didn't remain naive to her feminine curves.

She added the finishing touch to her innocent assault by placing a soft peck on his lips, before resting her forehead against his. Anuj couldn't even react to whatever happened in those few significant seconds.

Adorably nuzzling the tip of her nose against his, she whispered, "Mai toh aapki tabhi hogai thi jabse aapko mann me basaya tha. Reeti-Rivazo se bhi jald ho jaaungi. Chahe aapko yakeen ho ya nahi."

It was only when Anu attempted to retreat to finally give some attention to the boiling kaadha, that Anuj's frozen limbs moved. He pulled her back into a tight embrace.

Emboldened, he let his hands slide down from her waist towards her hip. His lips peppered feathery kisses by the side of her neck, slowly reaching and nibbling her ear lobe. She could barely contain her gasps.

Pushing him slightly away, she teased, "Anuuj, yeh kya kar rahe hai aap? Woh bura maan jaaegi."

"Hein? Kaun?" he couldn't fathom her words but the twinkle in her eyes was too distracting.

Pursing her lips with a lame attempt to hide her naughty smile, she reasoned, "Maryaada!" and burst out into bubbling laughter.

Anuj's intent gaze memorized her beautiful laughter. "Acchaji, Toh joh abhi abhi tumne kiya tha, woh kya tha?"

Snaking her arms around his neck, looking deep into his eyes, she asserted, "Aapne hi toh kaha tha ki hamari aadhi shadi ho chuki hai toh..." Her words faltered her and she downcasted her gaze.

Craning his neck to peer into her eyes, Anuj dug his teeth into his lower lips, asking, "Toh kya, Anu?"

"Anuuj, Jaane dijiye ne!"

"Wohi toh kar raha hu, jaane de raha hu, Maryaada ko."

She bit the inside of her cheeks as a coy smile spread over her face. Anuj tipped her chin up, to look into her eyes.

"I want my moment again. I was too stunned to savour it earlier."

"Not my fault" She retorted, cheekily.

He kept looking at her, ardently, as if he couldn't hear her jibes. His gaze flickered between her eyes and lips, making his intentions as clear as daylight. Only to turn it into his actions later, while the flu and its remedy remained a distant entity in their clogged minds.

I hope it wasn't that terrible!

Riya...I was delighted to see your writeup today after long time.

Rest assured whatever you write is always a treat to read.

This was one beautifully written scenario and I could relate to it because they couldn't keep their eyes off each other during all marriage rituals.

Thanks for sharing it with us.
