Why anuj got shocked when Malvika called him elder brother?

There is something happened bet anuj and malvika

That they did not meet for 10 years

That she did not reply to his emails or phones

That she told anuj not to say hes brother to anyone (duniya ki kaunsi behen bhai ko aisa bolti hai)

Anuj got so happy when she said elder brother

That means for 10 years she never acknowledged him as brother

But why they both are happy to meet each other now if they did not make efforts to meet for 10 years

And both were in USA only so its not like they were in seperate continents and kangal to buy air tickets to meet

Kuch toh locha hai brother sister relationship main

Its not like how both are portraying in party in front of others

The real relation and reason for 10 years separation will come out later not now

Its not all lovey dovey bet bro sis as show in party

Some big fight has happened 10 years back

But i doubt anupama is reason or she would not behave so nice

Lets see what is that raaz that they fought for 10 years and never met etc

Another thing haunting me is malvikas age. She do not look more than 25 to me even kavya said same ok max 30 years

Means when anuj parents died she was just 5 years or 10 max

Why such huge diff in age of bro sis?

Why do i feel that there is raaz about her birth? She may be illegitimate child of his father or whatever

Yeah I was wondering about age too. Even if she was 30 now anuj and she would have went separate ways when she was 20ish. What could have led them to fall out ? And then not see each other for 10 years

This is my interpretation of Malvika and what may be the underlying currents between her and Anuj...

I actually enjoy the way Malvika has been sketched thus far, she is straight forward, moves to her own beat, and doesn't seem to care about what others or society thinks. Between her and Anuj, I think they are parallel personalities ... one self-contained whereas the other is forward, one is emotionally balanced while the other seems to be more explosive or expressive, one overthinks while the other seems to "just go for it." Malvika comes off as someone who lives by her feelings, and this leads me to my idea that perhaps she might have had a falling out with Anuj and stretched it on with a grudge.

You're right, no sister will say those words unless they're super annoyed with their sibling. If they do then it doesn't last most than a few hours BUT with her, I think she's a pretty adamant and steadfast lady. The way in which she greeted Anuj and the foreshadowing we had of her character leads me to think she oscillates between moods quite frequently. Anuj seemed kinda relieved and approving (I can't think of another word for it) that she addressed him as her big brother. There was something in his glance and slight head nod signaling "thanks for acknowledging this relationship of ours."

Maybe she wanted him to do something, maybe even find Anu to confess and bring his one-sided love to a close, and he didn't. Maybe she wanted him to do something in business and he didn't. Perhaps she feels like he doesn't act on his desires as she seems like someone who grabs life by the horns no matter what. Who knows 😆 but I think once we have an inkling, all of us will laugh bc it probably isn't a devastating situation BUT an annoying or MU -like one.

I liked how she greeted Anu - I think she'll directly address anything related to Anuj, Anu, MaAn and push those wheels forward with her directness. It won't be like she'll be actively creating a situation to bring them closer or away BUT maybe just be the nonjudgmental voice of observation that everyone (mostly us viewers) has been thinking but don't say. She could be a mirror for MaAn, or more specifically Anu (since it's Anu's time to explore her feelings, their depth and how swept away she'll be in love)

Malvika age can be above 30 or even 35 . Jahan tak rahi dikhne ki baat to wo apne app ko maintain karke rakhti hogi USA mein. There are many ladies who look younger from their actual age . Rakhi Kinjal ki mom bhi to maintain karke rakhi thi apne aap ko. So we cant tell anybody actual age from their looks.

I think Malvika is 32. Anuj is 44 so they have 10 + years of difference at least ..

Malvika and Anuj might have drifted away from each other when Malvika was in her early 20s so like 22 ish.. She must be out of college and left to do her own thing. Of course not being in contact has to do with her having a falling out with Anuj.

Malvika is either his real sister that he took responsibility for after his parents death. Or she is his half sister (paternal side). I feel Anuj’s dad had an affair and malvika is a product of that. Mal’s mom might be alive and she might be in the US. Malvika might have stayed with her mom.. Malvika and Anuj had a falling out for whatever reason, and Mal stopped being in contact with Anuj. Maybe Anuj’s step mom, Mal’s mom might make an entry in the show later on.

The reason for me to think the above scenario is that Anuj has mentioned how Anu reminds him of his mom. His mom was like Anu… so his mom’s story could be similar.. which is why he didn’t wanna share with Anu yet. Maybe he felt that will trigger anu’s trauma. Idk.

But there definitely is something there. Something must have happened between siblings. Hopefully Anuj talks to Anu about it sooner

Yes Malvika can be his step sister and Malvika real mom can make entry later so in this way she is Anuj step mother and she will be would step saas of Anupama very very interesting.

But, I suppose anuj mentioning that anu reminds him of his mom could be on the lines that his mom must have also been homely and a simply lady, not that she had a similar live story like Anu...

Anuj once said jab bolna chahiye tha nahi bola

So I think, 10 years back he must hv stayed quite regarding an issue with Mukku. She got hurt, felt bad and hence 10 years of break.
This adds up to his above dialogue.
