Somehow bcz of some relatives stumbled across the last track of yrkkh after the fl's death, and while I was watching that saw anuj ki entry ka promo so started watching anupama.. Saw the condensed backstory then.. Now yrkkh has started a new track with generation leap and its bull so only anupama is nice. Tried a few other shows that are currently running like. Ghkkpm and mhrw but nothing is good.

Hey, then you are like me.. I too have seen very few serials. Honestly, right now I see only Anupama, no other serial.

And I would like to change that because at times the negativity and these tricks makers I don't like.. so to divert my mind apart from my work. I am looking for suggestions here.

When I see trending one ghkkpm, mhrw names come but somehow I don't even feel like seeing even one episode. They just don't interest me.

It's like when I read a book first few pages decide whether I will finish or drop immediately. And most of serials fail here

Your username, are you a Jane Austen fan too. during my college days used to read a lot of such books, have read all of hers. Maybe I should start reading those again.

BALH season 1 I watched in bits, abhi watching season 2 and I’m liking it so far barring the usual Kekta drama in between.

KTLK i couldnt watch for very long ek cause I loved the original and they made too many crappy changes.

Kar le tu bhi mohabbat I think I tried par didnt keep my interest

The shows I’ve watched and followed were cult shows like Dill Mill Gaye( big Armaan Riddhima fan here chahe Riddhima har do mahine badle😆) and Iss pyar ko kya naam doon, peer pressure kehlo ya jo bhi but these two I watched religiously even when there was every reason to not😆

Gaurav’s show yeh pyar na hoga kam with Yami had great chemistry between the leads but show is not available to watch online toh recommend karna is bekaar.

Guess what because of Gaurav only, one weekend I saw around 100 episodes of Byah humari bahu ka on YouTube with some FF. Serial was okay for me, saw only for Gaurav. Initially it was good but then the story disappointed and I left there.

I will see if I can somehow get hold of KTLK, ajeeb dastan and jee le Zara...I personally like closure, problem with most of these serials as you said are the longer they run the crappier story gets.

1. Gilmore Girls - I love the vibe of this show, and Lorelai has such a good sense of humor, it can attract anyone to it. It has drama though, so sometimes it can definitely frustrate you, but overall I LOVED Gilmore Girls.

2. New Girl - this is a very fun sitcom. I preferred it rather than Friends tbh. And definitely more than something like HIMYM. (The way they treat women is HIMYM is annoying as hell tbh, but if you can keep that aside for sometime and just take it with a pinch of salt, it's good too.

3. Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi: this is a classic. Very feel good. Don't touch S3 please, it was horrible. I've watched S1 and people say S2 is also good so you can go for that

This all from me 😆

Well I haven't seen any of these three.

However I have seen few episodes of HIMYM. And now when you say I realize it. Honestly at that time it didn't click or maybe I wasn't mature enough then to understand.

- There are two of my favourite serials thought they werent very high on TRP then because the audience was also different.

Jaana na dil se door (Phase 1 of this serial was beautiful, and not the typical kind). You can have a look at it, its available in hotstar. I loved the male character in that also.

- Dehleez, that also is a star plus serial and very short, but nice.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I see kuch rang pyaar ke aise bhi, is so many people's favourite.

I guess I might try dahleez as it's short and had closure too.

But the hindi shows mentioned here I have almost seen all of them except the web series.

I do have series which is like Anupama in the sense that we need MaAn and we get Shah drama in it. These shows has that too, if you take the Shah drama out then the story becomes very beautiful but all are subbed so I don't think you will enjoy watching it

Thanks dear.

I know this is common in most ITV, we will get drama and should learn to tune it out..since I haven't seen much, guess that's why at times I am just not able to filter out the tamashah family

I recall this serial. Had seen few episodes mostly when I used to come home for vacation.

Yes this one was very nice. I guess it did continue later with 2 sisters but by then my family had lost interest. My family regularly drops serials as they drag on.

Reminds me, just few days back we were talking about cutting screen time.

And my mother immediately volunteered to cut Anupama, it was that Kavya-Vanraj drama track.

Then at episode end, was Anuj accident scene and she was like no, now we should continue. She wants to see what will happen to Anuj.

Makers are aware even the TRP audience, will stop if they drag the tamashah too much. The language they use, often at times is not suitable for family sitting.

1. Geet Hui Sabse parayi - available on hotstar

It's about 10 yrs old so might require a different perspective but the couple has bit #maAn vibes, more of damsel in distress kind of story (incidentally the lead male is called maan...lol)

2. Jodha akbar - available on zee5 (I think the relationship is a bit toxic in the beginning so I'll categorise this as dark romance but amazing chemistry b/w leads and the show itself is a work of art specially if you're interested in politics and only recommend till episode 400 because it's typical balajee after that😀)

If you watch them I'll be most interested to know how you liked them.

I was an ardent follower of Geet..forget hotstar for very long time I had all its episode with me in a harddisk.

Jodha Akbar somehow I was never interested, I felt like it was copy of movie. And i stuck to original - movie.

Kuch rang pyar ke aise bhi aired on sony.

Dahleez aired on star plus was also good.

Bade achhe lagte hai 2 on sony is also nice

Maahi way and shadi.com From yrf productions on sony tv were amazing.

Some webseries like potluck, broken but beautiful, mentalhood, ram kapoor- sakshi' s webseries... Sorry i forgot the name...one another webseries by ekta starring ronit roy

I would have recommended patiala babes aired on sony but crappy channel ended without completing story because of corona lockdown..so...dont go there...i still get angry remembering about unprofessional channel and ph.

If you are ready to go 20 years back...but i dont if these shows are available online anywhere or not...but these werw real gem.

Astitva ek prem katha

Saans

Thanks for the reply

Saans and Astitva - have heard rare reviews but not sure if they will be available.

KTLK I am tempted to see because of Mohnish Behl, such a great actor. And I feel somewhere it happens too, women do get attracted to men. I mean compared to aggressive boys few find mature men more attractive. I always did, I love this 44 yr old Anuj, can't say would feel same about him as 18 yr old college guy.

I have seen broken but beautiful, ram-sakshi series.. I believe my next watch will be dahleez, a short series with closure.

Koi nhi, will give some muft ki suggestion.

Btw these all, in my thinking are mature stories

* Kuch toh log kahenge

Mujhe iske starting kafi sahi lagi thi. See for yourself if you like it. Mohnish bhel and kritika kamra in the cast.

#karle tu bhi mohabbat

This one's ram and sakshi's alt balaji series. First two seasons were love!

#ajeeb dastan hain yeh

Apoorva Agnihotri and sonali bendre are kind of paired here. I enjoyed it a lot.

#kehtaa hai dil jee le zara

This one is an age gap romance. Bahot pyaara serial tha.

These few in my understanding are decent. Baki up to your discretion

Edit- in english series, i loved watching 100. It was scifi, dystopia, romance, angst, sab kuch. Also there is haunting of bly manor too

I have seen Kehtaa hai dil jee le zara,,, mast hai. Hero bhi HOT hai! :)

Kuch toh log kahenge was good too, but I had stopped watching after Mohnish Behl quit

Kuch rang pyaar ke aise bhi on Sony, now available on youtube

Kehta hai dil jee le zara on Sony, now available on youtube

Yeh rishte hai pyaar ke (I used to forward all toxic scenes in it and only watched Shaheer-Rhea scenes) on Starplus, available on hotstar

I did watch other cult shows in past, but like others said I wouldn't like them if I rewatch them as I am not 20 yr old anymore and also coz I have seen how Anuj treats women :)
