Hey, then you are like me.. I too have seen very few serials. Honestly, right now I see only Anupama, no other serial.
And I would like to change that because at times the negativity and these tricks makers I don't like.. so to divert my mind apart from my work. I am looking for suggestions here.
When I see trending one ghkkpm, mhrw names come but somehow I don't even feel like seeing even one episode. They just don't interest me.
It's like when I read a book first few pages decide whether I will finish or drop immediately. And most of serials fail here
Your username, are you a Jane Austen fan too. during my college days used to read a lot of such books, have read all of hers. Maybe I should start reading those again.
Absolutely a Jane Austen fan. In fact I read all those 18th century novels.. If you like austen you can watch screen adaptations of her works.. Lots of them, the BBC ones are really good.
Have you seen Pakistani dramas? They are really good too. I like that they have just one season of the shows, have a completely drawn plot and finish the story in number of episodes. Very satisfying that you can finish the series in a given time and don't have to be hooked to it forever. No dragging and bringing in weird illogical twists to keep the show running which is why all itv shows fail after a time. Why don't our producers do something like that I always wonder. Also most of the Pakistani actors are great artistes, really.
A funny thing..you must have heard how that yrkkh show's been going on forever, started with a girl who got married and her children grow up then her daughter's story and now the daughter's daughter ki story chal rahi hai. I had no idea about all this.. apparently start of this year the daughter fl was killed off trp ki chakkar mein and the cvs brought a new story with the dead lady's lookalike. I watched a few episodes at that time and somehow the story grew on me, of the bereaved husband befriending this girl because his small son mistakes her for his mother. And aage a lot of stuff happens and the father and that girl get closer. I am ranting on about this because I really liked that story but all the yrkkh viewership totally hated it.. Bcz it seems they couldn't digest the ml who was the much flaunted eternal lover of the fl who died. I, being free of all that baggage, could appreciate what a good romance this was.. I just love romance... Give me a good romantic story and a cup of tea and I won't ask anything more of life.. So if you have the time and patience, do check it out please.. Bcz I'd like someone's unbiased opinion on it..the track is over now. it played out from mid jan to mid oct..
Sorry, I hope I didn't bore you too much. 😅😊

Yayy!!
So so happy to meet someone who shares my taste. I am die hard fan of all the 18th century romantic novels, you name it and i would have read it. So so many, my all time fav Pride n Prejudice, Jane Eyre, Gone with the winds, Wuthering heights, Little woman. Unfortunately, i left most of my books in BLR when i moved back due to covid. I have seen most of those movies too but only after reading the book. I am a book lover first ❤️
I have heard from some friends about few good pakistani series but somehow never seen any so far. Maybe will start with Zindagi Gulzar hai.
Yrkkh after anupama, i thought will give a try and saw for last 2-3 days, gosh the MU between lead. This is what happens when you falling into eo and love in few first episodes only. Spend some time together there should be no place for MU when its true love. otherwise its not love its just physical attraction.
Give me a good romantic story as book and a cup of coffee and I won't ask anything more of life..
Well I haven't seen any of these three.
However I have seen few episodes of HIMYM. And now when you say I realize it. Honestly at that time it didn't click or maybe I wasn't mature enough then to understand.
Yess I understand. Didn't click for me for a long time too but now I only watch an episode when I have nothing else to do.
Well thats not the only mistake they made. I do have a few reasons to not like them. Sorry if you like them and I am saying all this or hurting someone

Don't worry, I've no personal attachment with PH, I just think that good content deserves a chance
If I must say, I was one who used to mock anupama watchers in the beginning 🤣🤣.
So sabka time aata hai....lol

Koi nhi, will give some muft ki suggestion.
Btw these all, in my thinking are mature stories
* Kuch toh log kahenge
Mujhe iske starting kafi sahi lagi thi. See for yourself if you like it. Mohnish bhel and kritika kamra in the cast.
#karle tu bhi mohabbat
This one's ram and sakshi's alt balaji series. First two seasons were love!
#ajeeb dastan hain yeh
Apoorva Agnihotri and sonali bendre are kind of paired here. I enjoyed it a lot.
#kehtaa hai dil jee le zara
This one is an age gap romance. Bahot pyaara serial tha.
These few in my understanding are decent. Baki up to your discretion
Edit- in english series, i loved watching 100. It was scifi, dystopia, romance, angst, sab kuch. Also there is haunting of bly manor too
Kehta hai dil zee le jara was too good... Not much of age gap and beautiful series... Lead pair had intense chemistry...

True. Yeah right, good content does deserve a chance. Well same I really didnt know what so special about Anupama and i dnt like it the beginning but after Anuj entered, the dynamics changed drastically
Yayy!!

Ditto. Didn't expect anyone would read those old books... So happy to meet you sacchi🤗
Do watch zindagi gulzar hai. Wonderful drama. Also yakeen ka safar, chupke chupke, humsafar.. Some of the most popular shows. Very good too.
The current track of yrkkh is a remake of a bengali serial which I have read is very dark kind of love triangle.. Dont like those type of tropes.. I like love stories with angst but not it should be something between the two, not third person villains or weird misunderstandings.. If you are going to watch yrkkh do go back and try the track I told you from mid jan.. No crazy MUs there..very simple story but with the expected itv wale logic defying few scenarios but I really love that story.. The chemistry between the leads is lovely.. One of the best jodis of itv according to popular opinion..
And yes books always come first..

Ajeeb dastan hai ye wass a gem seriously. If only it wouldn't have been scrapped midway.
Ruslan was love in jee le zara. Somehow every serial goes south after shadi😆
You watched dmg? Wat about pkyek then?
I think all serials become boring after love confession 🤣
👋 👋 I was thinking what if we could see a Maan spin-off.. only Maan.. with story line we always wanted to see... Their love story, courtship,...
