BTW, our son has been with us for just over 2 years now - wow, how time flies! Also, one of first things we learnt when we decided on the process was that the "helping the child" aspect is truly ony 50%. The other 50%, believe it or not, is the "selfish" aspect of us (prospective parents) bringing home a child to call ours. Until you are in the same position of an "adopter" you will probably not fully comprehend this.
So true Vsur - I would say that it is 100% selfishness - If we really
analyze ourselves, we never do anything that does not bring us
happiness - it might sound harsh to hear but even loving one's
kid gives pleasure and that is why we do it. That is why I always
say that we are responsible for all our acts. We are not doing the
kid a favor , it is just that we are lucky enough to get the kid, he is
doing us a favor - I have never had the pleasure of adopting though
I have always wanted to - have my own reasons for that compromise
but have read a lot on this - and every little article augments my
conviction - it is we who are at the receiving end and we should never
count our blessings. Enjoy your kid..u talk about 2 yrs flying fast..
believe me, time really flies and before u realize it he will grow up
to become an adult ... and then u can not even hold him tight.......
a different Roja, eh???
