Thank you for the updates. I didn't see the episode but read the update... I think that Kashmiri girl whoever it is... was lover of Karthik... This Karthik married shanthi because her husband was killed in the war right.. and he was thinking that he was the cause for Shanthi's hubby to be killed... (Guilty feeling..) But Rocky is still kind of fishy................

Thanks for the update. Obviously the new character has something to do with Karthik. I guess the director suddenly felt the pressure to take the story back to the original characters like Karthik instead of focusing on the new heart-throb ACD.

Well, looks like Karthik had a girlfriend in Kashmir but when his good friend died on the battlefield he felt obliged to "give a life" to his friend's widow, Shanthi. Pretty much like what Priya is trying to make ACD do with regards to Jamuna.

Wow Vsur! Congratulations to you and your wife for adopting a child. 👏👏 But do you think the boy is calling Anita amma, out of respect? Why I am asking this question is that recently, we (as in my siblings and cousins), we have 'adopted' a home where there are 11 boys. We provide them with educational kits from books to their school bus fares. So everytime we visit them, they call us akka/annai/aunty etc. So presumably this could be that. Just my opinion, as I don't watch Anandham often.

Caryn its such a noble gesture from you and your family in helping out the poor boys and looking into their needs. 😃

They are so blessed to have themselves under your wings. I take my hats off to you all for becomng involved in this case.. in a spirit of humanitarian interest.👏

Caryn & Vsur,
Hats off to you... You guys are really great and All the very best for you & your families!!! 👏 👏

Veena, I too thought the same... I mean KK looks like Abhi..!! (good to know that I am not alone! 😊 )

I agree again Veena...
As soon as they showed this girl (KK) on Monday (from Jammu & kashmir) I too suspected that they will definitely show a link to Karthik!!...and looks like it's true.. But like you said... even there is a link, I just want CR to say that Manisha (KK) is just a person who loved this Karthik and nothing more... I mean not as a Bad guy who abandoned a woman with a child 😭 😭

And last but not least, thanks Vsur & Viji for your detailed updates!😊

Thanks for your wishes - Caryn, Roja akka, veena_v, aralyn, Sue Nair chechi, Bonheur, and all others.

BTW, our son has been with us for just over 2 years now - wow, how time flies! Also, one of first things we learnt when we decided on the process was that the "helping the child" aspect is truly ony 50%. The other 50%, believe it or not, is the "selfish" aspect of us (prospective parents) bringing home a child to call ours. Until you are in the same position of an "adopter" you will probably not fully comprehend this.

Also, Caryn, a separate congratulations to you and your siblings on your venture. Having visited a few orphanages in India in late 2004, we have seen first hand how the conditions usually are, not to mention the health of children/babies who are cared for there.

Let me add to my earlier statement on what's right and wrong about CR's portrayal of Anitha & Rakki. As per the law (probably broken in a few places, after all this is India!):
1) Any "prospective parent" cannot directly establish a contact with any individual child. You can only do this after the orphanage (social worker) approves it along with Ministry of Welfare's CARA approval (yes, even for adoptions within India), plus the family court's judgement (not sure if this is applicable for adoptions within India).
2) Caryn, please correct me if I am wrong, but when anyone/group helps an orhanage thru financial donations, etc., they again cannot pick on which child/children benefit among all those at the orphanage. In this regard, Anitha's (or Shanthi's future) financial support of Rakki alone is not legal! While the child is in the orphanage's support, they cannot "directly" show the link, even if it was practically so.

I do agree that every case has its unique points and so with the intention of not going too much into the details for this serial, CR is portraying things this way. Its just that its too simplistic - the reality is complicated! Enough said. 😊

Caryn and Vsur - hats off to you guys 👏

that girl looks so familiar...I have seen here somewhere 🤔
After reading all of yours guys comments..I too believe that girl is linked up with Karthick and since Omni cant get more kids..I think Rakki is his illegal son whom he even dosent know exits..? 😕 otherwise..he cant ditch a preggers girl? 😕

Vsur, I think what you've described about orphanages probably applies to some orphanages in some countries, which set their own rules. In other countries, such as the US, there may be federal or state laws governing orphanages.

Re Karthik. Veena, just to point out that Karthik was never portrayed as having had had any special relationship with Ramya. However, Abhi, and I guess the rest of the RK family, had hoped to marry off Ramya to Karthik. The fact that he married someone else was the main cause of Abhi's rancour towards Karthik.
