Folks, Kiterunner by Khaled Hosseini is one of the best books I have read in a long time. Poignant tale told in simple but elegant prose. Although it gives some insights into Afghanistan, the dominant theme is the foibles of humanity -- the central character's selfishness and envy, his often supercilious attitude towards the lowly Hazara boy who works in his household, etc. This is not the place to wax lyrical about a book but I urge anyone interested in a good tale to read it.
I have read this book too Bon. Very beautifully written. I enjoyed it so much that I recommended it to my friends. Gave the book to them, but it never came back. Oh well....... I hope it is going around. 😃
