It was a Saturday and ACD's mother Jaya had finished preparing breakfast and the parents were waiting for their 'chella putran'😉 to come down and join them. Jaya had been restless for the past 2 days, her late sis-in-law i.e. Divya's mother had been visiting her dreams😃 and mentioning something about Soolam (trident). Jaya was worriedly talking to her husband about this , when they heard a kili(parrot) josiyan calling out on the streets. For the sake of ACD's marriage, Jaya had visited all kinds of astrologers – numerology, naadi, vettrilai, Vaazha ilai, palm, tarrot , moon sign , sun sign , traffic sign eduvum vidalai, kili josiyam alone was eluding her till now😆. She immediately invited the 'Kili Joshiyan' inside and gave him a proper seat.

K J (to his parrot) : "en rasaa mundiyandi , vaada veliye, ammavukku nalla seetta eduthu kudu raasa". Jaya was praying seriously with eyes closed.

The poor under-nourished kili came out picked out a seettu and hurried to the box of nuts😉.

K J : "Amma 'Soolam' vandu irukkamma , indha veetula soolathala edho nalladu nadakka pogudu, aatha Durgaamma ella kavalaiyum pokiduva, veetula kalyanam aagadavanga lukku seekiram aagidum".

ACD amma stomachla rasamalai vartha madiri irundadu😉. "Romba sandhoshamppa" she gave Rs.101/- to the josiyan. She displayed all her 30 teeth😃 ( 2 sothai , dentist pidingitaaru) when ACD came down & narrated everything to him. ACD reciprocated with a 'kindal sirippu' 😉and left for his work. At comm's office, he was going through some records of dacoity , when another Soolam picture flashed on the screen. ACD nimindu utkar ndar😉.

Priya had a cultural function at college and she was incharge of costumes and accessories, which she had borrowed from a costume shop near her house. The function got over at 9PM. She was collecting all the items to be returned, which also incidently included a Soolam😆, when she suddenly remembered her father asking her to bring some veppalai kotthu (neem leaves/branches) from the trees around her college campus, to treat his skin allergy problems. She gave all the bags to her friend, Sudha and asked her to bring her scooty near the campus wall, where the trees were located. Priya was using the soolam to reach the higher branches of the neem tree , when 3 bikes full of 'porikki pasanga' started circling around her. She couldn't take 8 of them single handedly, but fortunately Sudha came with the scooty and she jumped on to the back seat with soolam in one hand and vepillai in the other😉. The friend took off , but the rowdies were in hot pursuit. A nervous Sudha accelerated and luckily the scooty entered Priya's most desired street in the city😃 – adhanga ACD irukkara theruvu. Priya asked Sudha to stop the vehicle and they both ran inside and banged on the door. Jaya opened the door😲. Only if P.Vasu had seen Priya then, she would have been paired opposite Prabhu and 'Anda Pugazh Naayagan , super star' would have cured her disorder, and Priya would have won couple of awards. Instead fate directed P.Vasu to Jyothika. Oru kaila 'Soolam', innoru kaila veppalai, yellow+red saree, paranda thalai mudi, periya pottu, kannulerndu vaai varaikkum vazhinda mai ( Kajal) enru andha kolathil Priyavai partha ACD ye aadi than poittar😕. Jaya karpooram kaati pongal padaikka ready aagitaanga😊. Porikki pasanga yaar veedunu therinjittu odi poitanga😆. Priya and Sudha were made to relax and given some hot chocolate milk. Jaya went to the pooja room, wondering😕 about how Soolam was intruding in her life during the past 3 days. ACD w/o looking at her directly, showed Priya the way to the wash room, when he saw on the loft , his dead athai's trunk box😛. He brought it down. He opened it and rummaged through its contents( 4 or 5 sarees, oru namuthu pona biscuit packet, one old jewellery box inside which were an idol of Goddess Durga and an old 'SOOLAM' with strange inscriptions on it 😉( the jewellery box and it contents were parambarai parambaraiya in the possession of Athai's husband's family). ACD was stunned for the first time. He brought out the trunk to his parents. Presently Priya also came out 'normal'😆. Sudha, an archaeology student had a curious look and she mentioned she had seen a picture of it somewhere. Next few weeks Sudha and her friends turned the library upside down and found out all details about the Soolam. ACD rendered Sudha and her team full support and protection😊. Ofcourse Priya (lucky charm)😆 was also included in the team. Sudha led an expedition to the roots of the Soolam and uncovered a massive 'Pokisham'. Avanga expedition adventures patri naan 4 murai poo suttra koodiya alavu ragalaiya irundadu😉. Avanga kandupidippu country levela pesapattadu👏👏. ACD pugazhum jasthiya paraviyadu👏.Priyavirkku thalai kaal puriyalai.

Ippothellam ACD Priya kitta konjam mariyadai(bayam) kalanda anboda pazhagararu😆. His memory is still fresh with the image of Priya in yellow/red saree.

okay people. i've written a short story on the ACD & priya romance. or more like a scene which i feel would be great if included in the serial.😊

this story may not be good as bonheur's, kams's or giri's stories but i guess this is my best shot at it.😛

i hope you all like it. i was greatly inspired by Bonheur's smooth flowing writing style.👏👏

SHORT STORY

ACD - Priya

ACD turned nervous at the thought of meeting Priya yet again. the last time when he had met her was during flag day. that day he got a little carried away & acted more flirtily than he usually would have acted in front of Priya. but what was he to do? he missed her too much to cover up his excitement in seeing her. if there had been a chance, he'd have grabbed her & hugged her not caring who was watching. but the police uniform stopped him from getting too emotional. his heart was ecstatic that he was going to see his beloved again but a part of him also feared for her safety. just thinking of Priya getting hurt because of him made his heart ache unbearably.

priya's house was shrouded in darkness. it seemed as if everyone was asleep. ACD walked up to the door & pushed the doorbell. the sound echoed through the house & lights turned on in two of the room above. ACD could hear footsteps coming down & to his surprise, Priya pulled open the door. she was barefoot dressed in a figure hugging white nightgown that hugged her slim silhouette perfectly. ACD swallowed noisily when he saw Priya in that revealing outfit. Priya looked taken aback & realising that she was not properly dressed blushed deeply. she pulled the nightgown tighter around her body. before anything else was said priya's dad had come to the door. he saw the way ACD was looking at Priya & immediately sent her in.

"what brings you here ACD sir? anything important? because you're disturbing our sleep." he remarked caustically. ACD's serious expression struck fear in his heart. "your daughter Priya is in danger sir. I got a call saying that they'll hurt my sweetheart.. sorry… your daughter if I interfere unnecessarily in other people's businesses." ACD faltered as priya's dad's face changed drastically. he didn't want to anger him but priya's dad was already mad enough. his eyes narrowed into slits & a vein popped in his neck. "it's all about you isn't it ACD? it's always about you. Priya is in danger because she's in love with you. I've told that girl a million times not to get involved with you but she never listened!" he roared at ACD furiously. ACD kept his head down seeing the truth in the man's statements.

luckily priya's sister in-law intervened & broke upt he argument. she led her fuming father in-law away & made him calm down. ACD stood at the doorstep till she came back. "I'm sorry sir. my father in-law gets carried away easily." she apologised soflty. "I understand madam. please don't apologise. if you don't mind, I'd like to stay here for tonight." he announced firmly. looking at the woman's shocked expression he clarified that he wasn't going to be staying in the house but outside the house. "I'll rest in my car. I'll also keep an eye out for any suspicious characters. just for tonight." he told the

nervous woman. kindly. she relaxed considerably into an easy smile. "I'll bring coffee for you." she told him & ACD nodded & walked back to his car. he leaned on the side of the car speaking rapidly into his walkie talkie.

priya's sister in-law was in the kitchen when Priya came down again for a glass of water. "what are you doing anni?" she asked her curiously. "preparing coffee for ACD. he is staying over tonight. I think he might be awake all night so I'm preparing some strong coffee for him." she answered. Priya felt a surge of happiness as she realised that ACD was going to be near her for quite a while. she had met him the last time during the flag day. ACD had seemed quite lovey dovey to her that day. the way he looked at her made her feel a little surprised & happy. today his look when he saw her in that nightie was too cute for words. "anni, let me bring him the coffee. please anni!" Priya begged her sister in-law when she saw her hesitating. "fine. but come back soon Priya. if your dad finds out then…" her sister in-law faltered at that thought. Priya nodded her agreement & took the coffee out.

she found ACD giving instructions to a few other policeman. his back was facing her & he didn't notice Priya till a policeman signalled her presence behind him. he spun around to face her, shooing the rest of the men away. "coffee…" Priya held out the cup to him. ACD just stared at her & reached out for the cup. as he took the cup from her, his fingers grazed priya's slender fingers. a sparkle of electricity shot through him even though Priya withdrew her fingers quickly. she pulled the nightgown even more tightly around her body, shivering slightly in the chilly night breeze. "so are you going to be all night? do you want me to get you a sweater? it's gets awfully cold around here at night." she asked him concernedly. "no.. no thanks. I'm fine." ACD replied stiffly. knowing that he wasn't going to make any more conversation with her, Priya let out a small sigh & went into the house. if she had seen the way ACD was looking at her as she left, Priya would have realised that he missed her awfully.

ACD downed his coffee in a quarter of an hour. realising that he had to return the cup, ACD walked up to the door. he was about to ring the doorbell when he recalled priya's father's furious face. rethinking his decision to ring the doorbell, ACD called out to priya's sister in-law. when no one replied ACD bent to keep the cup outside the doorstep when he found the door to the house ajar. suspecting that some unauthorised person might have went in, ACD pushed the door open & went to investigate. he found the rest of the house in darkness except the kitchen. a dim light was coming from the kitchen & ACD could hear some rustling as well. he pulled out his revolver & moved soundlessly to the kitchen. he was about to barge in when he heard priya's voice coming from the small room. "where did that can of soda go?" he heard her grumble softly. smiling to himself he replaced his revolver & strode into the kitchen. he found Priya rummaging through a high shelf. since it was too high to reach, Priya was standing on a stool. keeping the cup in the kitchen sink, ACD turned to leave. he didn't want to disturb Priya. as he was leaving he noticed that the one of the legs of the stool Priya was standing on was loose. it was shaking badly as Priya moved about. all of a sudden the leg just gave way & Priya fell backwards with a tiny scream. ACD rushed forth & caught her in his arms. she looked shocked & relieved at the same time. Priya regained her composure soon enough & when she realised that she was in ACD's arms started blushing again. he carried her slowly to the kitchen table & sat her down gently. "are you okay?" he asked her softly, gazing at her openly. "yes, I am." she replied back just as softly, meeting his gaze. Priya looked very different that night. her long hair was untied & moved freely in the light breeze wafting through the slightly open window. Priya usually looked like a cute schoolgirl with her double braids but that night there was a more womanly sensual look about her. :if you're fine. I'm going out." ACD moved away from her but Priya caught hold of his arm. "why are you so concerned about me ACD sir? you could have just made a phone call to ask me to be careful. you don't have to camp overnight outside my house." she stated simply.

ACD was slightly shocked at priya's statement. what excuse could he give her now for being so overly concerned about her? a realisation dawned on ACD. "it's now or never. just tell her the truth." his conscience urged him silently. taking a deep breath ACD turned to face Priya. she was waiting for his answer, a curious expression lining her face. "someone threatened to hurt you Priya. you mean more than anything in this world to me, if anything happens to you because of me do you think I'll be able to forgive myself?" he asked her simply. priya's face registered surprise then pure happiness. feeling that he'd said enough ACD looked away & tried to get away from the kitchen. when he reached the entrance he was surprised to find a pair of arms encircling his waist. "thank you." priya's gentle voice came from behind him. she hugged him tightly and a single tear rolled down her cheeks. ACD turned to face her, he wiped the tear away gently. "I'll talk to our dad about us tomorrow. I promise you." he explained to her softly. she nodded her eyes filling with happy tears yet again. planting a gentle kiss on her forehead, ACD walked out of the house. his heart tons lighter & a smile spread across his usually stern face. out of habit, he turned around to look at the house once again. he found Priya standing at the kitchen window smiling at him & he felt that coming to priya's house tonight had been a wonderful mistake.
