The final meeting
It was decided and done like in a blink of an eye. All seemed hazy and blurred but answers were needed. Jeet frantically drove like never before reaching the same old place that had in a flash changed his whole life.
That was it, the same place that took away his normalcy, the same road and the same forest that was bathed in an eerie long silence and wilderness. He got out of his car and banging the door shut shouted on top of his voice to make his presence known.
He banged his fist on the car frame and tried to simmer down. He walked around trying to tame his growing fury and failing almost everytime. He looked around half expecting to find her again.
"You're here", a voice shaped and brought Jeet out of his reverie. He practically sprang around and found his enchantress. She looked the same as she did that night. Enticing and serene all at once. She stood there without flicking a muscle and yet controlling every aspect of Jeet's life.
"You know you're not supposed to be here." She spoke stirring his anger within.
"So now you get to decide even that? I knew not that you had become such an integral part of my life that you can even make decisions on my part! How dare...you don't mean a thing to me in fact..."
"
So what brings you here?" She interjected even before Jeet could complete. She had a smirk playing on those luscious lips. Her eyes were inveigled and a satanic depth graced her face. She was manipulating and scheming and played every bit with his emotions. She was inviting and he gave in. He walked in his long stomping strides and grabbed hold of her shoulders rather roughly, pinned her against his car. He kept looking at her trying to divine her presence while all she did was stared at him as though she had waited for him for a long time.
"Who are you?" finally Jeet spoke loosening his grip on her."I don't even know your name. I don't know anything about you yet you keep invading my thoughts. Who..."
"What would you call someone without a name?" she interjected yet again.
"Anamika"
And she smiled.
"Now you know what to call me"
"Who are you? Why invade my life when you're not here to stay? Why you're doing this?"Jeet sounded desperate, desperate for his answers.
"Why is it so important for you anyways? Go home Jeet you're really not supposed to be here" and with that she pulled herself apart and began walking away, way from him yet again. But this time Jeet was determined not to let go, at least not so easily. He went after her and pulled her towards him. She came crashing to his chest. For a moment all was forgotten. The soft escaping moans were lost in that deafening silence of the night. She nestled her head in the crook of his neck. And Jeet felt compelete, like he finally found his place, his solace. But still there were words needed.
Jeet held her chin and forced her to look up. And there he was lost again in those smoldering eyes that veiled the mystery that Anamika was.
"You know I've waited for this moment for I don't know how long. And now it feels alright, like a throbbing pain has subsided. I knew you'd come" Anamika echoed his thoughts and Jeet couldn't help but smile.
"How did you knew I'd come looking after you?"
"I just did...because you belong with me. You had to return to me. But this time ain't right there's still waiting of years left. Better go home Jeet; we'd meet when the time comes."
"I..Wha...NO! Are you..I mean NO! Hell no!!" The clenched calm finally gave way to intense fury that Jeet al this while had kept locked away somewhere. He held her even more roughly and pushed her with all his might, suffocating her, torturing her making her feel all those invectives that were once hurled towards him.Anamika visibly flinched.
"You're hurting me. Let go..JEET!!"And with that she pushed him away from her.
"So do you now know what its like to be in pain? Especially when you keep brooding over something that is tangible, within your reach still you don't get to hold it for once? DO YOU????"
"I know you feel miserable. But you will have to wait. Jeet I am a part of shadows, to dread light is my destiny. Don't you get it we're parted souls? Like halves of a whole. I belong to death and you to life. How do you think we'll ever meet?"
To say Jeet was shocked would be gross understatement.
"What do you mean?"
And he was greeted with that same luscious smile that ruled his heart.
"I am not alive Jeet I never was. I am just a drifting thought that somehow remained. I was bared of my heart, my soul but yearning remained. You remained. My soul's tainted and you are the one who could heal it. I've waiting for you"
"I don't understand...what...what are you?"
"I am not mortal. Sounds dramatic, right?"
Jeet felt he was thrown overboard. Like someone spooked the living ghosts out of him. He faltered backwards, astound and shocked. An uncomfortable silence descended and suddenly everything went blur as if all that a dream that crashed into the grounds of reality. So that was it. A lamb indeed fell for a lion. A mere mortal asked for way too much.
Jeet couldn't speak for a few moments for he had nothing to. Gravity suddenly drew upon him but he recovered. After all he was THE Jeet Saluja who was anything but a quitter.
"Why..."
"I was born in a time that you might not understand. (She turned around unable to meet his gaze anymore) I once refused advances of man, a master of shadows and in turn he cursed me. He cursed me with agelessness. For years I saw my loved ones die and the pain was unbearable. And then one day I decided to end it all. I traded with the dark lord itself. I traded my soul in return of human existence. I just couldn't live like that anymore. But I was cheated my soul was taken and I was given immortality. For centuries I've lived writhing in pain. It kills me and the worst part is death never comes" and with that she collapsed. Her lifeless body fell on the rusty ground of that forest. Pain evident as she tried controlling the tears that threatened to fall any moment.
It took a lot of control. Jeet had this sudden urge to hold her safe in his embrace and kiss her senseless so that she could forget her pain; if not forever at least for while.
There was so much he wanted to say but he chose action instead. He came directly behind her and knelt down. Hugging her from behind all he could muster up was, "I am there"
"You have my soul. You're a part of me. And..You...you've got no idea how have I waited for you. I don't wish to let you go..But.."And with that she got up moving out of his warm embrace that felt it was only for her.
She spun around, no longer holding back the tears that formed in her eyes."Leave Jeet, before its too late. I remember what it's like to be human. Go back and wait till we meet again."
"So I should go back leaving you behind? After so many years of writhing in pain I find my cure and you expect me to leave it behind? After finding someone I can bare my soul to you just expect me to forget all that? I possibly can't...I don't want to. And why the wait when we're meant to be then why not here? Why not now?"
"Because you live and I don't. You still need to cross that bedlam known as life. And do you think I could...ask you to..."
"You don't have to ask. If my death is what'll suffice why not invite it? You know I could happily bleed for you"
"And I can't see you do that. We'd wait, I'll wait. Leave...please...I...Just can't..."
And without giving a second thought Jeet moved towards her, his heart and mind all had made a decision and he was firm. He went ahead, took her in his arms and pulled her in a crashing hug letting her know what his decision was.
She looked up, her eyes twinkling, indicative that her long wait was over. That the pain of waiting was gone and all that left was promising and lovely road ahead. Words weren't need any more for the silent moans said it all. All the kissing, and promising of future could wait. Right now in each other's arms it felt complete, it felt perfect and serene.
So I am done with the finale part. I know I went a bit overboard but with the current track in the series my mind has actually stopped working. So guess this is it. Awaiting your responses.
