Take the average of all the scores and use that number instead of the total of all scores...random thought...😕

averages wont matter - if u take 45/50 or 9/10 as average - it doesnt matter...

We seem to have a statistics class here 😆 Average idea looks good to me 😳 But I would still say, listen to all and then mark 😛

i would prefer the old format of saregama, have three contestants at a time, make them sing multiple rounds and then grade

another point here is that male and female contestants should contest and be graded seperately
why cant we have one male and one female winner which makes it two voices of india rather than one voice of india??
then there is no bias of a female judge being for males and vice versa

and taking an average is a good idea too especially when you have such varying scores

the idea of locking scores before hand is a good one ... but somehow i did feel that things were fixed when three contestants finally ended up with the same total on sunday ... in a way i was praying for it 😊 so didnt mind it much

and another idea is to have some kind of a moderator who can ask every judge the basis for points given and has the right to discount a particular judge's points if he/she felt it was biased ... this is actually not really possible 😊 but just wishful thinking ...

kiti, ihad suggested a similar idea-going back to the old srgma format..but people pointed(rightly so)that in this age of trps,it maybe not feasible..

it is unfortunate..strangely i too ended my post with"i know it is my wishful thinking" 😆

and TRPs... hmm... the root cause of all problems ...
why cant they make shows just for ppl who enjoy good music w/o bothering abt. TRPs 😭

I would vote for small groups and multiple rounds, PLUS scale mods as suggested (mean/median/mode or other). We could have one round of marking as is. And then ask the judgest to also do a relative ranking unrelated to the marking.

Ok so it would be like this.

One each round, each judge would give marks. All marks would be kept secret but comments would be given.

At the end, these would be aggregated (also secret).

At the end, they would also rank. The average ranking would be one part of the score and the other part would be calculated in some way across the judges using their secret score.

I am sure this sounds very complicated. I barely understand it!
