Jojo I feel the same way total fish out of water. Naaz sweety I believe you'd look stunning in a saree and Teena I'm sure you'd look fabulous too. 😊 With Rusty she looked gorgeous in it looked a bit older too.

Hmmm.. yahan pe toh pura thesis ho gaya hai on sarees.
Yes Teena cotton saris will not look very bright onscreen... but have you ever seen Sarabhai v/s Sarabhai? I watch it not just for its comedy but also for Ratna Pathak Shah's sarees.... she wears beautiful sarees, out of her personal collection i suppose... mostly cotton ethnic or silk ethnic.... bahut hi achchi sarees and they fit the role she plays, of an upper class housewife with high culture aspirations and taste. Love her sarees absolutely. And they dont look all that bad on screen.
As far as wearing sarees is concerned, with practice it tends to take less time... also i feel that women look very pretty in sarees... though of course i understand that the concerns of daily life make it difficult to wear one everyday. The generation of our mothers could do it.... but that is also very region specific.

And to relate it to adhm, Saumya looked pretty in that sari... though i liked her casual dressing for the show as well... as Teena rightly said, it looked authentically like a young Punjabi bride.

Shvetal in S and S, Ratna Pathak sarees... compliment her physique, her hairstyle...her style , her make up and not to forget her age and overall ambience of the house... Her blouses are also very stylish.... overall her character is very authentic as per her class in the show.... I also love that. (Great minds think alike....😉)

Coming back to ADHM, Rusty would have looked little older than her age while wearing cotton saris.... Moreover she would not have worn stylish revealing blouses.... The way she was wearing sarre in one scene... simple blouse.. I mean she could have looked much more graceful and sensuous if some importance had been given to her.... I am sure you must have looked at her suits ... sometimes they were exactly similar , only the colour was different... (red and green..)...(white and pink).... whenever she was wearing off shoulder suits... she was covering it with dupatta... the one she was wearing in the scene,"Airport scene...and I love you scene in the hospital..."...😃... see there is so much left which I had not discussed so far..😉.😆.

Vasu dear I feel the same yeh hum sarees sey Off shoulders per kab gaye pata hi nahin chala. Teena is too superfast in everything. We all keep trailing behind. I think Rusty's clothes were stylish yeah n they suited her. Besides she followed the dress code. Salwar suits so that could not be changed but they cud've been varied. Which was not done at times I found the thread work or bead work too minimal. But then I believe that was done keeping in mind her foreign status prior to her indulgence in rustic or local attire. It wud've been absolutely absurd if she had started wearing heavy embroidered material or the close printed sarees. But I agree the blouses cud've been made more sensuous. But as I explained earlier this was a rustic concept can't expect her to become Kashish now. Sad or happy the jewellery and apparell remained on the mark and absolutely stunning. Rusty's was a less glamorous character with different shades. So the attire suited her.Though sometimes the colours became too pale especially the pink dress I did not like it at all. 😊

Hello … Jojo … honey you almost offered me a Ph.D degree😆 in Saris …. I wish it's that easy to get a Ph.D degree in any area for that matter😕.

Yes my background is purely technical (specifically engineering and finance) … but I have a passion for fashion, interior decoration and floral arrangements. Recently I am having a lot of fun with cooking😉. Perhaps we should start a topic on food related to ADHM?

Teena …. what are you waiting for😃?
