Chapter 1
It was a very early morning in Bhagalpur. Everyone is sleeping very few people are up who are going to some chores. A small house is shown and on the roof a girl is shown studying in the light of lamp. She was wearing simple night suit and had shawl to protect her from cold. Her face is revealed she is Krishna raj most commonly known as Padaku Krishna raj. She is studying for whole night as she is preparing for her test. She has only one dream to become BDO, serve the nation and help her family. At her age when other girls dream about their dream man marriage and society she thinks about books and only books. She is so engrossed in studies that she even didn't notice the time and it's already 5 am.
Downstairs a room is shown which is very neat and everything in the room is bright. A girl just woke up arrange her bed sheet and saw the other bed in her side and understood
"Today also she didn't slept. This girl can never learn"
She arranged her bed and books, took bath and go to kitchen warm the milk. She took the milk and reached on top of floor and saw Krishna is studying. She called out for Krishna but Krishna didn't listen to her. She went near her shouted in her ear Krishna. Krishna gets scared and left the book and was looking at her face all scared.
"Pinky ki bacchii, you scared me"
Her face was revealed she was Priyanka raj urf Pinky. She was looking really beautiful in her pinky Patiala suit and light bindi. Water was dripping from her hairs. She starts laughing. She is a homly girl who loves to do all household work and dream about her wedding. Krishna and Pinky are cousins but love each other as real sisters. They care for each other and share their concerns and problems with each other. The way they understand each other no one can understand them because both of them are going through same phase and both are of same age. She is also studying for BDO exams for Krishna as this is the condition laid in front of her by her father.
"You were not listening to me than what I was supposed to do. Do you have idea what's the time now it's already 5 and you still are studying? I asked you last night to come and sleep early but you are really stubborn now leave everything and drink it I have make badam milk for you and your brain."
"Pinky why you do all this for me"
"Because my BDO sister studying for whole night and Manisha didi gave me full instructions before wedding to take care of you else she will beat me. Now don't look at me and drink it"
Manisha Raj eldest sister of Krishna raj and daughter of Vidya pati raj. She is loving caring sister who had always look after Krishna like her own daughter as Krishna was always careless about her. She always wished and knew Krishna can become an officer. She got married 6 yrs ago and has a 5 year old daughter Nitya. Before wedding she handed her responsibility to pinky who is most responsible after her.
Krishna smiled and Pinky and drank the whole glass of milk.
"That's like a good girl and now go down and sleep" Pinky ordered again.
"But this is last chapter I have….." Krishna tried to reason.
"I am not in mood to listen anything you just go and sleep. I am listening it from last night" Pinky replied back.
"But Pinky listen I will have to wake in hour as you know today is my turn to do household work and cleaning and if I don't do Ma will be angry. Then what is the use of sleeping for 1 hr"
"My dear sister I am here I will do all the work and will handle Badi ma too so don't worry and go to sleep."
"You are spoiling me. You always do my turn and save me from ma but don't let me learn household work."
"If you were so interested in doing work then you should have slept in night so now no excuses go to room and sleep"
Pinky forcefully dragged Krishna to room and made her sleep.
Then she went to kitchen again make 2 cups of tea and enter room again and wake other girl who was sleeping she woke up immediately on Pinky's call. Her face was revealed and she is Swati raj. She is second daughter of Vidyapati raj elder sister of Krishna. She is little careless but very good at heart. Her rista has got fixed so her mother wants her to be more responsible and this duty is again handed to Pinky.
"Di you go and freshen up and we will have tea together. Then we have to work."
"I know wait I will come in 5 mins" She freshen up and come back and asked about Krishna.
"She didn't slept last night too na. Ma will be very angry"
"I know don't worry we will handle badi ma"
Both of them finished tea and then finished all the household work as well. Till then even saraswati woke up. Saraswati Raj is the mother of Krishna raj. She is loving, caring mother but very strict in nature. She had always treated pinky as her own daughter and always said she has 5 daughters instead of four. She is traditional who feels a girl needs to get married and handle house. She wants Krishna to fulfill her dream but at the same time wants her to learn about household responsibilities but never wants to bind her in them. Earlier she was the first person to wake up but now with age she is becoming ill so girls had shouldered all her responsibilities and asked them to rest but she can't leave her habits. She came out
"Badi you woke up don't worry we will finish all the work"
"I know Pinky you will do everything but where is Krishna isn't she supposed to do work today so why you are doing"
"Ma she did all the work we just helped her and you know how she is she didn't slept in the night so we asked her to sleep for some time before breakfast" Swati made an excuse.
"I don't believe you two I know you will save her. She is sleeping right now is fine I will ask Krishna myself when she will be up. I know she never lies like you. You love her very much but never follow her rules she hates lie. Now finish off the work and wake your another laadli too as she has to go to her school."
They entered the room again there another girl was sleeping peacefully under blanket. They went to her and sat on her sides and start waking her up but the little girl was showing tantrums this was heard by Krishna. She woke up, went near the bed and shouted
"Chanchal uth jao nahi to bahut bura hoga."
Hearing her voice Chanchal woke up with jerk.
Chanchal is the youngest sister of Krishna raj. She is most pampered girl in the family. She is naughty, prank master, street smart but very lovely girl. She is most scared of Krishna and saraswati and love to dupe Swati and Pinky.
"Di I was getting up…"
"Now go and take bath you are getting late" ordered Krishna. Chanchal ran to washroom. She signaled pinky to handle Krishna.
"Pinky and di two spoil her a lot. I don't get why you can't be strict with her."
"They are spoiling you too Krishna" Krishna was shocked when she heard the voice. She turned around to find saraswati standing there.
"Ma… actually"
"No need to say anything sometime come out of your books too and see how much work your sisters do. Do you ever see your face you are getting dark circles due to excessive study who will marry you if this carry on" Saraswati was ranting and Krishna was listening quietly bowing her head. Pinky and swati tried to interrupt but were stopped by saraswati
"Pinky Bitiya I am not in mood to listen so stops don't defend her. She is becoming spoiled"
"Who is becoming spoiled saraswati raj" everyone turned to find Vidyapati Raj standing there.
He is father of Krishna raj. He is honest, principled salaried govt. servant who earn 8000 rs and to look after his four daughters. He is very hardworking person and has a dream to make his daughter BDO. He loves all but Krishna most. He always goes out of his ways to support Krishna in her studies. He is coming from Patna as he had some urgent work there. All the girls ran to him and hugged him. He caresses they head with love.
"Bade papa thankgod you came see na how badi ma is scolding Krishna."
"Pinky bitiya let her scold as it's her way of showing love. She is so much concerned about krishna's future which is coming out as anger. Saraswatiji if your scolding's are over can we have a cup of tea."
"Ya Ya I know this is your way to save your daughter from me wait I will get tea for you" replied saraswati and left the place.
Girls circled VP for their gifts as they knew he can't come without them
He handed Pinky's fav earrings which she sold last month to get a important book for Krishna.
"Bade papa"
"I know you love Krishna a lot but I am also a father can't see my one daughter selling her jewellery for other it really make me feel weak" he said emotionally and both hugged tightly. Then he gave gifts to Swati and Chanchal. Then he came to Krishna he had bought her 2 books which she wanted from so long time. They all had group hugged.
Saraswati called from kitchen
"Girl's it's breakfast time now come and help me. Pinky call BD and Ravi too for breakfast"
Bihari Raj. He is Pinky's father. He is richer than VP but is selfish man with sugar coated on his voice. He just love his children and hate VP and family specially Krishna whom he feels competitor of Pinky. But he shows that he cares for them very much. He is staying in same house as this is their pustani house and he is scared if he leaves it VP will not give him his share. He had asked Krishna if she teaches Pinky then he will rent her book for 3 hrs to study. He wants Pinky to become BDO and not Krishna. So most of books are rented to Krishna by Bihari as a fee of teaching Pinky.
Dehati raj: Pinky's mother. She is as selfish as her husband. She never does any household work and always keep ordering saraswati and her daughters. She was pampered by her MIL as she gave birth to the only son of the family Ravi Raj. She hates when she sees Pinky helping saraswati and her daughters in work. She tries to stop pinky but always fails.
Ravi Raj: BD's son and Pinky's elder brother. He is spoilt and selfish like his parents. Being only son of the family he has been pampered a lot. He was made to feel he is superior to his sisters so he too takes advantage of being boy and love to bully all the sisters. He just love pinky and doesn't consider VP daughters as his sisters but behave properly with them due to elders.
"Suniye ji, why we are staying in this house. They have made our daughter servant in the house. More than that you give Koyla khadan Pinky's books to study you know she will clear the exam"
"You know why I am staying in this house and regarding Koyla khadan you don't worry. She can study as much as she wants but in the end Pinky will become BDO as in today's word only money speaks. I just want Pinky to pass in the exam even if it is just passing marks. So relax" both start laughing on this.
"Mummy" Pinky called out. Bihari shush Dehati
"What's there to laugh too much in this morning. Badi ma is calling you for breakfast come down and has it"
"Ok beta you go and wake your brother up we will freshen up and come down go beta"
Pinky enters her brother's room. It was really messy she picked her stuff while shouting
"Bhayia wake up soon breakfast is ready"
"Pinky go na I slept so late in the night"
"What were you doing bhayia went for late night movie with friends na."
"Pinky don't argue with me. I can do whatever I want"
"Ok Ok just come down when you wake up and have food"
Pinky left the room and went down to her badi ma. Pinky is different from her family because she was mainly raised by Saraswati along with her daughters. Though Dehati had always love Pinky but was more involved in her shopping and pampering Ravi that she kind of ignored pinky in her childhood. So it was always saraswati who took care of her. Now she feel that Saraswati has snatched her daughter but doesn't look at her mistakes.
This was the introduction of Krishna and Pinky and their families. Next chapter will be devoted to Pintu and Veer and their family.
