NEED HELP WITH A NEIGHBOUR

Hi,

Am new around here in this forum..and opted to come here as I need some help with a neighbour of mine. I live on the 9th floor of a bldg and my neighbour on the 11th floor is giving me a lot of trouble. His airconditioner is dripping water on mine thru out the day on and off. This has been going on for the past 3 mths atleast. At first my husband went and spoke to them about it and asked them to fix the problem. At that time they did say they were waiting for their aircon repair man. To date the problem has not been fixed. In fact,2 weeks back while my husband was away on tour and my son was having his exams going on...these people kept the water dripping going on continously thru out the day right from morning 11 to past midnite without a break. Literaly non stop...and it was very annoying. Even at that time when I went up and complained they had told me they wud get it fixed. Now things came to a final straw when yesterday again this noise started and I went up to remind them abt fixint it. This time however the man in the house came out and asked me.."kya karen beti?"(What to do,child?)...so I told him politely" aapko apne aircon mein ek pipe lagaana hai taaki paani bahar gir jayega aur mere aircon par nahin-chota sa kaam hai"(translated-You only have to put a pipe outside on ur aircon so as to route the water away to fall down instead of on top of my aircon) At this he told me:" To tum hi lagaa lo na beti".(To say" You do it yourself child"). I told him blankly that when the problem is in his aircon it was not my responsibilty to fix it and he has to get this done himself-not ask me. At this he asked me if I had complained to the maintenance office to which I said yes but becoz nothing was being done,I had chosen to meet him again. At once he told me,to go ahead and complain again there at the office or to whoever I liked and said he was NOT going to fix it. He actually refused to fix the aircon and shut the door bang on my face.

Now the problem here is...Mine is a new bldg..no society has been formed and as a result there is no real "committee" that can take action against the errant member. Am not sure I know what to do..how to deal with such boors. So far talking well has not worked with them. Obviously now it is time to get nasty or so I think.

If any members here can advise me how to deal with this nuisance,I would be most grateful.

Inform the building super and tell the super if he/she doesn't take things seriously ur getting the cops into it( u can if things don't stop)
