Helloo=) Well i've just entered my final year of GCSE in grade 11. Soon After grade 11 finshes, i'll move on to college/six form (six form is normally done in school and is considered better). The problem im having is, since i was a child i've been to the school i'm at the moment. This school is a indian school so there are not much of other religions. My School is specilized in Buisness studies and 6 form subjects here are, science, english, ict, buisness and a few more boring ones. I want to consider going into the medicine field and the people i've asked have recommended a diffrent school which is speical in science, so they have all the better facilites for the subject and all. But this school is mixed race, although i do think i can cope with having freinds in a diffrent religon, that shouldn't be a problem..
But should i move to this new school for 6 form? Or just stay at the one i'm in now?
Pro's of moving:
  • Better facilites
  • will be able to mix in with new people
  • School is specilized in Sciene.

Con's of moving:

  • The School i'm at now has my freinds
  • All the teachers here know me better, so i won't really have to make a new impression
  • i don't have to worry about making new freinds
  • My present school still does Science in Six Form..

Please if you could help me out here..

I've still got a whole year to decide, but..ERMM i'm nervous and scared.😭

Awwww dont worry,
Lucky for me, My school's sixth form is really great, and we are also a specialist science and sports school.
I can understand your worries of moving, :)
But seriously at the end of the day you will do science for an A level subject and its going to be the same course for whichever exam board.
Like for GCSE mine was AQA, so all the schools doing AQA of course are going to do the same specification. Its up to an individual to pass tht subject, the teachers might help a bit, but in a specialist science skl i can tell u its probably not tht diff to one who is not as we only recently turned into one, so i think we r about the ame as before as we have a new scienc block before, so everything was new and modern, but since being a specialist nothing much has changed tbh,
Sports - wen i1st came in year 7, i never saw wat it was like befor, but since we are one we have had new halls, changing rooms, new astro turf pitches by powerleague and we are currently building a new sports hall which costs millions, so i am not sure on science....but im guessing after few years they will advance,
But all i can say is the course specification at end of day will be the same, its up to you to pass it, the teachers will teach you but at both schools wat extra can they do for you, better facilities..? Does tht really count much and offer you best chance of suceeding? i dunno its up to u to know wats best, but all i say is end of day both schools will help you, teach you, and tbh the only main difference b/ween your school and new one will be one is specialist in subject and all that means in they get more money.

Yup im from Uk too, im now in Year 13, so i have been through all of that.
Its tough making any choice, but i know for me i would rather be in a place where im comfortable than starting all over again, as if you are happy, then you will work hard but if you move then on top of getting used to new school, new people, you may not be happy and your performance may slip in subjects - all just because of one subject as AS level you have 3 others to pick or so...depends on your school and what they offer, i was lucky our 6th form is very good and we have so many subjects including new ones like sociology and Psychology as well as RS, history, english, maths, science and now they have Photography (bit bizzare). But dont sacrafice everything just for science, as University choices are even tougher, and if you do bad in one science module, you can retake the module :)
People in my school before for GCSE, got A*s in our double award science, so that was before science specialist, so it shows you its within an individual - not necessarily a school.
Am glad i helped a little bit.

your going to have to move some point of your life and your gonna leave school so if u move now its just 2 years earlier. If you stay for you friends another two years your just gonna have a big effect on your studies for the rest of your life you would make new friends at a new school. Gud luk

well, i dont know many things about subjects, and high school and all.. 😛.. but i think ur worries are focusing more on social matters of class change 😊
if u want to study medicine, the most reasonable thing is to shift in a school where there are more faccilities to study it. That wud be a proffessional view.
But we always end to think about the ppl there, so i dont blame u. its just natural.
Well, about the teachers, is very very easy, just be urself, bcz that will help u and them aswell. i wud recommend u not to give fake appearances, bcz in situations of needed help, that only wud bring troubles. trust me, i have changed school like 4 times, and many times i thought about having another personality instead of the "boring" one i have. but it never worked, bcz i just ended to be myself, lol.. so i dont think u will have many opportunities of changing urself along wid changing the school....
About the diversity of cultures, it wont be a problem if u are a social person, and making friends for u is easy or not complicated.
first i thought u were living in India, but after knowing that u are in an european country, i think that things must be similar to here; where im the only indian in class, (actually the only in the whole school) 5 - 6 persons are muslims, and the rest all christians, beleiver or not. and well, if i talk about friends, mixing classes, in a group of 10 girls, like half of them are muslims, umight be wondering why do i talk about myself 😆.. lol, but as im not an expert in advices, and i live quite well in that situation, i thought of sharing my experience. 😊 i hope it helped..
so, concluding, i dont think i might have many difficulties. 😊
