He is back as the muvaqqeel of KD Pathak. But is this only for one episode or will he back permanently.

He seems to be a look alike of Varun or is that really Varun ????

If this is Varun, then how would he turn back into a civilized person again? I am sort of scared to watch this episode.

Could this be a twin of Varun who got separated at birth and abandoned in some jungle or a place far from civilization.

Hope we get back Romit Raj as a part of KD Pathak's team. And I would still wish him to be back as old Varun

What they could do is show that Varun didn't actually die, but it was someone else who died and Varun ended up lost and memory lost. He ends up in a jungle where he is saved by other cannibals and thus becomes one himself. Now he has been blamed for murdering someone and KD has to save him. As he spends time with KD he starts remembering his past and at the end of the episode we have a complete memory regain.

Way too much OTTness, but at least it would bring Varun back. Because Romit did say that Varun is back, not someone looking like Varun or Romit is back. If he himself specifically said Varun is back, then it means the character Varun is back.
