The good doctor wants to know where Antara's mother is when Adit informs him that she has passed away just some weeks ago in a car accident. The doctor thinks Adit is a widower, and sympathises with him. He assures him that all will be ok. Adit wants to know if A will be okay. The doc tells him that certain tests will have to be run. A CNS test by which they can know the extent to which A's brain is damaged. (yuck…… I don't like those words so let me rephrase it….. to which A's brain is functioning at normal level.) The sooner the better says the doctor. He is dead right. Too much time has been wasted and my angel needs to be put on the right track ASAP. For once let the adults allow her to take precedence over everything else. Antara the great architect is still toiling over the house oblivious to the turmoil her father is going through. Adit…. I mean the actor has done a good job of showing fear, uncertainty, worry and dismay. He has been through a shock of realising that his child is special and that there is an unenviable uphill task for him ahead. And he knows he is all alone in this. Poor guy……….. 😒 😭
An old lady, a good Samaritan is concerned and comes to Adit and helps him up. Don't worry son, she says. You can rise, be bold and courageous and things will be alright. Very symbolic words intended to tell Adit to get a hold on his life and move on no matter what. A in the meantime starts walking………….. unfortunately not towards her father but along the path before her. Adit runs after her and catches her. He turns her around and they both begin their trek homewards.
She comes back to the present with a thud.
She sees Adit with his clothes soiled and dirty and asks him what happened. He says "nothing, I just slipped". He goes to the living room with A and sits in darkness with her. Vidya puts the light on and comes to sit in the nearby chair. She asks him if he wants tea. But Angel has taken out her jar of balls from her bag. Adit is curious to know what she's going to do. For the first time, he's really aware of her condition. He is genuinely interested in what A is upto. He is preoccupied with her and absently answers Vidya. He tells her he's not hungry when she asks him if he wants something to eat. She sees him concentrating on A and feels ignored. She gets up and leaves. She goes to Abhi to help him change his clothes. Abhi tells her to tell Papa to change his clothes. Go na, mamma. (so sweet). 😆
She goes to kitchen. He goes to put Antara to bed. She breaks the eggs in the pan. He removes my angel's shoes, tie and rucksack. She starts beating the eggs and adds the onions and tomatoes. He straightens Angel's hair and pulls the covers over her. She remembers the events of the day she's had. He remembers the events of the day he's had. She remembers the good news and her decision to kind of restart a life with Adit. He remembers the jolt he has received by the news of A's autism and is heartbroken. She spills the eggs and soils her kurta. He is trying hard hell to control his sorrow. She clutches her middle and thinks of her unborn child. He begins to weep near Antara's bed. Both Adit and Vidya are in tears and desolate. The happy mood has dissipated and the house is full of despair.
