Last week, my India-born sister-in-law and I watched the episode aired on 5/11.
It was an emotional episode.

That night, I read a few threads posted in this forum. Since then I have learned that
this story is a very loose adaptation of Erich Segal's novel - "Man, Woman and Child".

The success and popularity of a novel, play, TV show etc. depends on the culture or
setting of the story. Segal's novel can be best appreciated in a Western setting.

Basic human emotions like love, courage, sacrifice, jealousy, anger, frustration,
sympathy etc., though experienced by the human race all around the world ... differs
in the way we show it.

Everyone understands love and relationships. Yet a relationship between a man and a
woman, or a man and a child, or a woman and a child described in an Indian setting can
be vastly different than the one in a Western setting.

Culture and society dictate how we react to a situation and how we handle our relationships.

And today, I am here to understand and appreciate how this beautiful story of a little girl, her dad,
her mom and her brother, is adapted and enacted for the global audience. 😊

My younger sis was a special child. So I always feel closer to all the special children.
