The 'New' Abhi

Recently two arguements have been presented regarding the "new" Abhi. Some believe his anger is 210% justified while others believe (though not well expressed) believe that this new Abhi is going over the top. The answer lies somewhere in the middle.

We have to take a few things into account when we derive our conclusion. First, Abhi was never an angry sort of guy. He was confident, strong, secure and head over in heels in love with Simi. There was no effort made on part of the writers to explain the sudden age difference or the rational behind WHY a 22 year old guy would fall in love with a 30-year old 10 times rejected woman who was both fat, frumpy and viewed as rather homely (means unattractive). Nevertheless, we (the audience) were expected to believe this romance was real and any doubts or questions were of our own and were completely ignored.

Our 22-year old year was then changed to an insecure, tearful lover who fought tooth and nail to win the heart of his beloved who suddenly started acting as woman who had NEVER been rejected in her life. She was now mahaan woman who was wililng to reject the guy she wanted to love her, for Nakul. She even agreed to marry Nakul for her family and dump Abhi at the roadside. Time and time again she mistreated the poor guy - rejecting him even after his family had come to do the rokha and went so far as asking him to burn everything he had even her including a ring which he had sold his jeep to give her.

Married, she ignored his rejections of affection and only once initiated them. She was so busy with these issues she didn't even realize that while she might not have physical needs perhaps her husband might.

All the while she hardly ever showed her affection or appreciation of her husband. NEVER has she said to him "I love you." She has never been appreciative of the fact for what he has done to her from DAY ONE! She is perhaps one of the most selfish female characters ever written when it comes to relationships. She does NOT deserve ANYONE like Abhi. It's so contrary to how a decent girl would behave. I would expect this behavior from a conceited woman who has men falling at her feet.

Now she keeps a secret from her husband. While he has a right to be angry; his behavior is NOT according to his character or the situation at hand. I do NOT expect Abhi to be so forgiving, but for him to run around the streets after Rajeev Bhala or to physically grap Simi or degrade her in front of people? NO. This is NOT the Abhi that I knew. The confident and secure Abhi would tell Simi exactly how he felt and he would never be catty or ugly. He would even have heard her out and told he EXACTLY why he was angry. No, I don't expect he'd kiss and make-up either so early.

Regarding RB; Abhi would NEVER get upset because he would know that RB wanted a reaction from him. In fact while Abhi was watching RB, he would look at RB and then grab Simi and plant a kiss on her lips in front of RB and tell him: RB, dream all you want because I have the real person and she wants ME, not you. Plus I don't have to force myself on her, I have to force her off me. Dream On!

And Raksha what a site it would be if Abhi did what you said and made Bhalla run to his mommy and cry about how Abhi and Simi are teasing him...I so want to see this👍🏼.....Just thinking about is enough to make me laugh😆 and if I got to see it I would be doing a standing ovation...even though no one but my family would see it😕

Agree with all of you, esp your point Laila, which many have missed: The point here is not whether Abhi's behaviour is justified or not, but whether Abhi's behavious is consistent with his character or not.

We all react when we are wronged, and all our reactions are justified as victims... but how exactly each one of us reacts depends on our character. No two people will react the same way, each will react in accordance with his nature. What the CVs are showing as Abhi's reaction and behaviour is justified of course because he has been wronged terribly, but it is not consistent with his characterisation so far.

To illustrate this, imagine what others would do under similar circumstances:

Nakul - would hire goondas to beat his wife's stalker to pulp or have him framed and jailed, without himself stepping into the mess

RS - would largely ignore the stalker and advise his wife to do the same

Anuj - would sulk, and tell off both his wife and the stalker

Abhi - would tell his wife off, challenge the stalker openly and outwit him with a scheme

Omi - would talk politely but firmly to the stalker and lecture him on how wrong it is, maybe complain to Nakul bhaiyya

RB - would openly give gaalis, hire a bodyguard for himself and wife and goondas to beat up the stalker

Waiting to hear from all of you regarding these reactions...

he is hurt a lot insulted and he has been mistrusted BIG time by his wife.. Let her see his new behavior !!
he is human he has feelings and he is also a person who has taken responsibility of her so its her duty to inform things but when it doesn't happen he wants her to change her way of looking at things and give him responsibility to maturly handle things and people who need certain treatment
