Simi has spent her life sacrificing for her family. Will this be the turning point for her when she finally realizes she needs to think of herself and stop giving up herself for her family. I mean what has she got in return for it - NOTHING.
She was insulted, demeaned and degraded. Yet, she said nothing; remember just last week she had a pretty good tongue when she had to hurt Abhi.I am wondering if she regrets asking Abhi to ask for Anuj to return home for her ungrateful mother. After all she could have been with Abhi rather than possibly getting raped by some gundas after having being rejected by her family. And what with poor Abhi? Slapped by Anita, nearly beaten up by Anuj, deceived by his mother and then kicked out of the house by Manju. It disappoints me that time and time again that in our society we are asked to respect our elders and yet when our elders are wrong - Anita, Anuj, Mrs. T., Manju etc - we are required to remain silent and take their abuse? It's a very messed up society when we cannot speak our mind. Abhi certainly made an effort to stand up for himself and Simi but in return he was considered insolent. That's completely wrong.Talking of respecting elders, Simi the elder among all of them yet Neetu, Anita and Anuj are very derogatory towards her. Yet somehow it's OK for this behavior but not OK for people to speak when an elder is wrong. I am confused with all this doublestandard here. Is this Indian society or the creative team in action?
No, I don't think this is the current Indian society. There is no Simi in this world and I doubt if there is even Abhi. So, what the creative team is showing - self-sacrificing Simi, respecting elder eventhough you are getting 'killed' for it and not speaking out when elders are wrong, doesn't always happen in real life. What they are showing are extremes in every case, which doesn't happen in Indian society.
And I doubt if the creative team will ever make Simi regret asking Abhi to bring back Anuj into the house.
