wow!! the digressions are astounding..the topic at hand was the result of neetu and vicky's one night out..and we go on to frank pro-/anti-abortion debates and a more than teensy bit of sex education!! i really find that fascinating..

it should always be a matter of PERSONAL choice then..eh?? we cannot and should not judge until we are placed in that situation ourselves..
afer all wasn't it the great JESUS CHRIST who said let the man who has committed no sin be the one to cast the first stone...

evolution is not just physical..it also has to be mental and emotional..or else it leads to stagnation..and the end of civilizations..history gives us enough proof of that..
complacence..i think is the biggest sin...
so is ignorance..

just my thoughts..

each to his own.....its definately a personal choice......and offcourse bringing a child in this world is the most blessed thing in the world that God has given mankind. On one hand there are people pining to have a child and on the oher abortions and pills being resorted to...its really a sad situation.......but offcourse here in the case of Vicky-Neetu they have always been selfish and i would not be surprised if they go ahead and bring a child in this world but atleast give a thought to the child not yet born...how will the child face the world...for one selfish moment how can someone put the whole life of the child in shame if at all such a situation arises......but offcourse its a personal choice....

And abortion is not a solution. It has several bad impacts on body.It can sometimes cause infection in uterus.Still if you feel I am hurting your centiments I am really sorry.I don't want to hurt anybody.Sorry again.😭

It is not about hurting me personally, it is most your lack of thought when you use a title where you imply that a mother is killing her child when she plans on having an abortion. And what is even more thoughtless of you is your effort to insult those who have by apologizing. I don't get that behavior of yours.
Janki, you are putting your own personal values into a statement with that title. Your last paragragh reflects that information that you a) don't see aboriton as a solution, so what do you suggest that Neetu should do instead or the other girls who are your friends and b) infections can be caused by any type of surgery if not done properly. If you have an abortion in the kind of setting they sent Neetu, sure it's likely.
Things don't have to be for or against IF rules in order for them to be insensitve or incompassionate. Think again, for some women it is not killing a baby. Abortions happen at a number of different stages but to you it's all abortion whether it is in the first, second or third trimester.

I agree laila in certain circumstance aboirtion is unavoidable for example tubal pregnancy if there is no miscarrige doc have to abort baby to save mother, I personally went thru this experience luckily i had miscarraige after 3 and half months of being very sick to find out it was a tubal pregancy which has to be ended.in abortion. Also same way an unmarried girl who is raped what choice does she have how can she keep the baby.
In nitu's sitaution she wants to keep the baby but society won;t let her live in peace. They are not some rich ppl who cna afford to take nitu away and have baby else where. neither can they raise that baby. who will they the child belongs to.

there is one hospital here that does the abortion and gives pills and stuff on the sly as in this part of the world such things are banned...It is an Indian Doctor's hospital and unfortunately that Doctor's both children passed away in tragic circumstances......last week a guy i met was telling that due to the curses that doctor faced such a situation......i was like oh pls. give me a break...are the doctors not supposed to do abortions......and i was taken aback by that statement....the discussions here reminded me of that....

Aww some people are just insensitive!
The doctor is just doing his job...

I remember in the US, this abortion doctor was murdered.
He did abortions for people who were already past the possible abortion date

So to stop a doctor from so called "killing a baby" someone took a life too.
I totally see the sense in that

Aww...it was just meant to happen. At least it ended in a miscarriage

Society will NEVER let Neetu & the Sethi family live in peace! I would tell her to go for the abortion
Her family will hate her for bringing shame to them & society would mock her at every turn & her kid will be taunted for being illegitimate. No one will be happy!

Here are some Pro's of Abortion:

Good Reasons for Abortion - Abortion Pros
  • Though women have a hard time choosing abortion as an option for unwanted pregnancies, they have been making the choice for a long time.
  • Ultimately, she is the one who would be going through the actual "Labor" of continuing pregnancy, delivering a baby, bringing it up, parenting it well, in addition to other obligations she has to do in her daily life. To get it done with little or no help from the partner and families needs a well-balanced body and mind.
  • There is nothing called pro-choice and pro life. Both ideologies meet at one common point i.e. Pro-Life - Life of the baby and Life of the mother. Life of the baby ultimately depends on mother's health and it's best to allow the mother to choose for her, WHEN she wants a baby.
  • While we argue about the mental well being of a woman, how do others get to decide what would be more traumatic to the woman, abortion or; 'childbirth and the unending list of duties waiting to be accomplished'.
  • An attempt to restrict the abortions would rise not only the percentage of illegal and unsafe abortions but also the expenses of the procedure. A new law would be needed to tackle the illegal abortions and further legal hassles would have no ends.
Legalize or not, abortions will always be a part of society. Deciding factor whether to abort or not would be different for different people. To one abortion can be traumatic, to the other forced childbirth can be equally traumatic. It's impossible to decide a particular set of rules for all. It all depends on the multifaceted approach of each woman, her psychological strength, supportive circumstances that will not only help her decide but also being convinced about her decisions.

There were cons too but i think all the cons have been posted in this thread.

I especially agree with this bullet

  • Ultimately, she is the one who would be going through the actual "Labor" of continuing pregnancy, delivering a baby, bringing it up, parenting it well, in addition to other obligations she has to do in her daily life. To get it done with little or no help from the partner and families needs a well-balanced body and mind.

The woman is the one that will have to do all that ^^
And the woman needs to be veryyy strong to do all that
