Watson cuts hair to get computer hacker role

London, Aug 10 (IANS) Actress Emma Watson has cropped her hair in a bid to win the lead role in 'The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo'.

Watson, who shot to fame as Hermione Granger in the wizard franchise 'Harry Potter', recently chopped off her luscious locks in favour of a pixie-style crop to bag the part of computer hacker Lisbeth Salander in the big screen adaptation of Stieg Larsson's best-selling novel.

'Emma has auditioned with director David Fincher and cut her hair to look the part. The character of Lisbeth is a misfit with spiky hair,' aceshowbiz.com quoted a source as saying.

Apart from Watson, other actresses who are vying for the coveted part are Ellen Page, Natalie Portman, Carey Mulligan and Kristen Stewart.
