Tridha Choudhury, Shiv Pandit and Arunoday Singh roped in for ZEE5 web series

Zee5 is all set to launch its new web series which will be based on the real life incident of the murder of Syed Modi, who was a star Indian badminton sportsperson. 

The cast of the series includes Arunoday Singh, Tridha Choudhury and Shiv Pandit who will play a pivotal role in the series. Tridha Choudhury will portray the character of Antara Malik in the series. 

Syed Modi, an Indian badminton singles player was the recipient of the men’s single title at the 1982 Commonwealth games along with three other International titles. From 1980-1987, he was the eight time National Badminton Championship. 

The horrific incident happened on 28 July 1988 in Lucknow where he was shot dead as he came out of the K.D. Singh Babu Stadium after his usual practice session. He was murdered with five bullets fired at him. 

After the investigations, it was reported that four people were hired for his murder who were working for Akhilesh Singh. 

This is not the first time that Syed Modi’s story has been displayed in the media. In 1991, Actor and director, Dev Anand made a thriller film based on his murder, Sau Crore.
