'Hum aapka show dekh ke..': TMKOC's Dilip Joshi reveals what people tell him about the series

Dilip Joshi, aka, the very popular Jethalal, from Sony SAB's 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma,' has been on cloud nine ever since the show has secured a second spot on the TRP charts last week. Speaking to Etimes TV about the same, the actor credits the success of the show to producer Asit Modi and calls securing the 'second spot' an amazing feeling.

''The credit goes to Asit bhai and the writers. Script has to be interesting, actors almost are the same only a few have changed. Agar script mein jaan hai toh actors can come together and do wonders. Initially, we would make it to the Top 10 show in the TRP list but last week we were on number 2. It's an amazing feel,'' the actor tells the portal.

Further speaking about an entire generation growing up watching TMKOC, Joshi reveals how people come up to him and tell him that they have grown up watching the show. ''When I meet people, they tell me sir Humara toh pura bachpan aapko dekhte dekhte guzra hai. We have grownup watching you. The show has been on-air for last 17 years, hum jab school mein the tab bhi dekhe the, college gaye tab bhi dekha aur ab job join kar liya hai, shaadi hogayi hai and we still watch your show. An entire generation has grownup watching our show,'' he reveals.

The actor calls TMKOC a 'life changing experience' and says, ''I can’t deny that Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has been a life-changing journey for me. The immense love and admiration I’ve received from the audience are truly overwhelming. From elderly viewers to little kids, from all walks of life—everyone has showered me with affection.''

For the uninformed, TMKOC, secured a record breaking viewership last week as it secured the second spot on the TRP charts, beating shows like Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and Udne Ki Aasha.
