Sajid Nadiadwala reconsiders 'Sanki' amid financial concerns & high entourage costs by Ahan Shetty - REPORT

Recent reports have surfaced suggesting that renowned Bollywood producer Sajid Nadiadwala is contemplating halting production on his upcoming film, Sanki, which stars Ahan Shetty. The decision stems from multiple factors, including financial challenges and unexpectedly high expenses.

Ahan Shetty, son of veteran actor Suniel Shetty, is currently working on his second film, Sanki, under the banner of Sajid Nadiadwala’s production house. Following the lukewarm performance of Ahan's debut film, Tadap, at the box office, Sajid felt a sense of responsibility to give Ahan another chance to shine. To fulfill his commitment, Sajid cast Pooja Hegde opposite Ahan in Sanki.

However, the current state of the market has posed significant challenges. Reports reveal that Sajid is experiencing second thoughts about the project due to disappointing returns from satellite and digital rights. The financial returns have not met his expectations despite securing a digital rights deal with Amazon Prime Video. This shortfall has been a critical factor in Sajid's reconsideration of the film's viability.

Adding to the financial strain, Sajid was reportedly taken aback by the high costs associated with Ahan’s entourage. The expenses for Ahan’s staff, including hair and makeup artists, stylists, drivers, chefs, and trainers, were billed to the production and proved to be considerably high. This revelation led Sajid to threaten to shut down the project, citing the financial impracticality of continuing with such overheads.

In a bid to save the film, Suniel Shetty intervened, requesting Sajid to proceed with Sanki. Suniel even offered to assist with the costs to ensure that the project remained afloat.

Ahan Shetty’s debut film, Tadap, released in 2021, was a remake of the Telugu hit RX 100. Unfortunately, Tadap did not perform as expected at the box office. Now, with Sanki, Sajid Nadiadwala aims to redeem Ahan's standing in the industry, but the financial hurdles and entourage costs pose significant challenges to the project's future.

As the situation unfolds, fans and industry insiders are keenly watching to see if Sanki will overcome these obstacles and proceed to production or if it will be shelved, marking another twist in Ahan Shetty's early career in Bollywood.
