Randeep R Rai on playing Aryan in Anupamaa

Randeep R Rai, known for his charming screen presence, is currently winning hearts with his role as Aryan in the hit Star Plus show Anupamaa, produced by Deepa Shahi and Rajan Shahi. Best known for his "chocolate boy" image, Randeep has taken a bold step by playing a complex and emotionally intense character this time.

Speaking about joining the top-rated show, Randeep said, “After 10 years in the industry, I finally got the chance to be part of such a big show.” He admitted to feeling nervous at first, but he soon settled into the role and now enjoys playing Aryan—a character filled with emotional pain and a dark side. “Aryan cannot tolerate his mother’s happiness and wants her to suffer, just like he did,” Randeep explained.

Known for playing ideal son or husband roles in the past, Randeep now wants to explore more challenging and layered characters. “It was time to try something new,” he said, adding that he’s even open to roles in mythological shows in the future.

Talking about the thrill of playing negative characters, Randeep shared, “It’s fun to play intense scenes like tearing photos or causing drama. It gives a different kind of energy compared to playing sweet characters.”

When it comes to career struggles, Randeep has a calm and positive approach. “Whatever is meant to happen, will happen. Rejections don’t bother me anymore,” he said, crediting this mindset for helping him grow.

On the personal front, Randeep revealed he’s single and open to an arranged marriage. “I believe in arranged marriages. The process has begun, and it’s a nice way to start knowing someone,” he said with a smile.

Looking ahead, Randeep hopes to continue growing in both life and work. “I just want to look back one day and feel that I lived a happy life,” he concluded.
