Rahul Dev pens a note for late brother Mukul Dev: ‘Passed away peacefully’

Veteran actor Mukul Dev passed away on May 23, 2025, in New Delhi. The news was confirmed by his brother, actor Rahul Dev, who shared a heartfelt message on Instagram announcing Mukul’s death and the funeral arrangements.

Rahul Dev’s message read: With a heavy heart, I share the news of the peaceful demise of my beloved brother Mukul Dev in New Delhi. We will be performing the cremation rituals tomorrow, 24th May at 5 p.m., at Dayanand Mukti Dham, Nizamuddin West, Delhi. Mukul leaves behind his daughter Sia Dev and is survived by his siblings Rashmi Kaushal and Rahul Dev along with nephew Sidhant Dev. May his soul rest in peace.

Mukul Dev was a familiar face in Bollywood and television for over two decades. He gained recognition with films such as China Gate and Jungle, and appeared in popular TV shows including Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii and Saaya. Known for his strong screen presence and versatile roles, Mukul also worked behind the camera as a director and producer.

Actor Vindu Dara Singh, a close family friend, confirmed Mukul’s death to India Today. He revealed that after the passing of Mukul’s parents, the actor led a quiet life away from the public eye. Recently, Mukul’s health had deteriorated, leading to hospitalization before his peaceful demise.

Fans, colleagues, and industry peers have expressed their condolences across social media, remembering Mukul Dev for his contributions to Indian entertainment and his off-screen warmth. The entertainment fraternity mourns the loss of a talented actor who left an indelible mark on films and television.

The cremation will take place at Dayanand Mukti Dham in Nizamuddin West, Delhi, on May 24 at 5 p.m.
