Actor Mukul Dev, known for his work across films and television, passed away on May 23, 2025, in New Delhi. His brother, actor Rahul Dev, confirmed the news, sharing that Mukul died peacefully and the cremation would be held at Dayanand Mukti Dham in Nizamuddin West, Delhi.

Salman Khan, who shared screen space with Mukul in Jai Ho, expressed grief through a heartfelt Instagram post. Sharing a throwback picture, he wrote, “Miss you my dear brother Mukul. Rest in Peace.” The post struck an emotional chord with fans and colleagues.

Rahul Dev, in his note, informed, “Our brother Mukul Dev passed away peacefully at New Delhi last night... He’s survived by his daughter Sia Dev. Missed by siblings Rashmi Kaushal, Rahul Dev and nephew Sidhant Dev. Cremation at 5 PM. Address: Dayanand Mukti Dham, H6QR & GF4, Nizamuddin West, Delhi-110013. Mukul Dev.”

Arjun Rampal also paid tribute to his late friend. He wrote, “Absolutely stunned by this tragic news about Mukul Dev. Life is just so uncertain. My deepest condolences to my brother @rahuldevofficial and all the family. Praying for them to find the strength to cope in these times. RIP Mukul. Om shanti #ripmukuldev.”

Mukul began his acting journey with television. He played Vijay Pandey in the serial Mumkin in 1996. He also acted in Doordarshan’s Ek Se Badh Kar Ek, a Bollywood countdown comedy show, and later hosted Fear Factor India Season 1.

His Bollywood debut came with Dastak, where he portrayed ACP Rohit Malhotra. The film also marked the entry of former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen into films. Mukul’s career included performances in notable films such as Son Of Sardaar and Jai Ho.

Mukul Dev’s contribution to both mainstream and regional cinema, along with his television appearances, earned him respect across the industry. Fans, too, recall his impactful performances with heartfelt messages.

The film and TV fraternity continues to remember Mukul Dev as a versatile artist and a warm colleague. His sudden passing has left many in disbelief.
