Nayak 2 in the making: Siddharth Anand & Milan Luthria to helm sequel

In 2001, director Shankar and actor Anil Kapoor collaborated for the first time on the political action entertainer "Nayak," which has since garnered a cult following nationwide. Now, according to reports, after 23 years a sequel to "Nayak" is in the works. According to insiders, director Siddharth Anand and filmmaker Milan Luthria are joining forces for "Nayak 2."

Produced by Siddharth and Mamta Anand under Marflix Pictures, "Nayak 2" promises to be another high-octane commercial entertainer set against the backdrop of politics. Milan Luthria, known for directing hits like "Once Upon A Time In Mumbai" and "The Dirty Picture," will helm the project. The film is said to have a plot that naturally progresses from the original "Nayak," with a strong vigilante theme.

Penned by Rajat Arora, who has previously collaborated with Milan Luthria on successful projects, "Nayak 2" marks a reunion for the talented duo. Speaking about the project, a source revealed that Siddharth Anand is excited about the prospect of creating a unique vigilante-based action entertainer, complete with intense action sequences and impactful dialogues.

Siddharth Anand, who last directed the successful film "Fighter" featuring Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, and Anil Kapoor, is venturing into production under Marflix Pictures. The banner is gearing up for several upcoming projects, including "Jewel Thief" starring Saif Ali Khan and Jaideep Ahlawat, "King" featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Suhana Khan, and "Rambo" starring Tiger Shroff, among others.
