Naseeruddin Shah, after defending Diljit Dosanjh against criticism for working with Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in Sardaar Ji 3, has removed his Facebook post addressing the controversy. In the now-deleted post, Shah clarified that Diljit was not responsible for the film's casting choices and asked people not to blame actors for creative decisions made by producers or studios.

Expanding on the controversy, the acclaimed actor also discussed the challenging relationship between India and Pakistan, expressing his worry about efforts to limit personal and artistic collaborations between the two countries. He emphasized the importance of maintaining a separation between art, cinema, and political conflicts.

The post by Shah has since been deleted, and he has not provided a reason for its removal. On Monday, Naseeruddin took to social media to support Diljit saying, “I STAND FIRMLY WITH DILJIT. The dirty tricks deptt of Jumla Party has been awaiting a chance to attack him. They think they’ve got it at last. He was not responsible for the casting of the film, the director was. But no one knows who he is whereas Diljit is known the world over, and he agreed to the cast because his mind is not poisoned. What these goons want is to put an end to personal interaction between the people of India and Pakistan. I have close relatives and some dear friends there and no one can stop me from meeting them or sending them love whenever i feel like it".

“And my response to those who will say “Go to Pakistan" is “GO TO KAILASA"," he concluded.

Diljit Dosanjh shared a video on Instagram showing a Pakistani theatre audience enthusiastically reacting to a scene featuring Hania Aamir in Sardaar Ji 3. He also highlighted the film's early box office success, announcing earnings of Rs 11.03 crore within the first two days of its release.

Sardaar Ji 3 is currently embroiled in controversy due to the inclusion of Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in the cast, alongside Neeru Bajwa. This has led to the film's international release on June 27, instead of a release in India.

Following the release of the trailer, various groups initiated calls to ban Diljit Dosanjh and his future projects in India. Both the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) and the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) issued statements demanding such a ban.

Diljit Dosanjh recently addressed the controversy, telling the BBC Asian Network that the project was completed before current political tensions arose.

“Jab yeh film bani thi tab situation sab theek tha. We shot this in Feb and then everything was fine. Uske baad, bhut saari badi cheezen humare haath mein nahi hai. Toh producers ne decide kiya ki film obviously ab India toh nahi lagegi, toh overseas release karte hain. Toh producers ka bahut paisa laga hua hai aur jab yeh film bann rahi thi tab aisa kuch tha nahi," he said, adding that the makers are aware they will incur losses. “Now the situation is not in our hands. So if the producers want to release it abroad, I support them."

Sardaar Ji 3 stars Hania Aamir as a ghost hunter, alongside Diljit Dosanjh, who is assigned to exorcise a spirit from a UK mansion. The film blends action and comedy, with romantic elements as Hania and Neeru Bajwa compete for Diljit's affection.
