L2 Empuraan on OTT: Mohanlal, Prithviraj Sukumaran film to come on THIS platform from this date

The highly anticipated sequel to Lucifer, L2: Empuraan, starring the legendary Mohanlal, is all set to hit streaming platforms after a successful run in cinemas. The film, which was released in theatres on March 27, 2025, is now preparing to make its digital debut. Fans can catch the action-packed political thriller on JioHotstar starting April 24, 2025.

Mohanlal himself made the exciting announcement on social media, confirming that L2: Empuraan will be available for streaming exclusively on JioHotstar from April 24. In his post, the actor wrote, “L2: Empuraan will be streaming from 24 April only on JioHotstar,” sparking a wave of excitement among fans eagerly awaiting the film’s OTT release.

L2: Empuraan is the second part of the Lucifer trilogy, continuing the gripping saga of Kerala’s political turmoil. The story picks up after the events of the first film, with Kerala’s political landscape in disarray. Jatin Ramdas, now the Chief Minister of Kerala, succumbs to the same corruption that plagued his predecessors. In his pursuit of more power, he forms an alliance with a powerful figure from the central government, leading to a clash of interests that threatens the balance of power in the state.

The film delves into the origins of Zayeed Masood, further developing the intricate connections between various characters and setting the stage for future developments. The ending of L2: Empuraan leaves viewers hanging, with a cliffhanger that teases the much-awaited third installment, L3.

Apart from Mohanlal in the lead, the film boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Prithviraj Sukumaran, Abhimanyu Singh, Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, Indrajith Sukumaran, and Jerome Flynn of Game of Thrones fame. American actor Rick Yune and Pranav Mohanlal also make cameo appearances, with Pranav portraying a younger Stephen Nedumpally, adding another layer to the film’s rich narrative.
