Kareena Kapoor to draw inspiration from Kate Winslet's 'Mare of Easttown' in her next by Hansal Mehta
In her next film which is tentatively titled as 'The Buckingham Murders' and is helmed by Hansal Mehta, Kareena Kapoor is said to play a role inspired by Kate winslet from the web show 'Mare of Easttown'.
In her upcoming movie, Kareena Kapoor will play a role that draws inspiration from Kate Winslet's Emmy-winning performance in the web series Mare of Easttown. The actor has wrapped up her most recent project, which was directed by Hansal Mehta. She portrays a mother and investigator who is tasked with investigating a homicide in a rural area of Buckinghamshire. The Buckingham Murders is the tentative title for the movie.
Kareena will make her production debut with the movie, which is made by Balaji Telefilms and Mahana Film. The actor revealed that Balaji Telefilms' Ekta Kapoor and filmmaker Hansal encouraged her to join as a producer. 80% of the dialogue in the movie, according to Kareena, is in English, and 20% is in Hindi.
Sharing her thoughts on the role in the Hansal Mehta directorial Kareena told Hollywood trade magazine Variety in an interview,
“I love Mare of Easttown and when Hansal came to me, I said this is something that I’ve really been dying to do. So we’ve molded a little bit on those lines, she plays a detective cop in that. It’s the first time that I’ve dabbled in that.”
Along with the murder investigation, Kareena has also concluded Sujoy Ghosh's The Devotion of Suspect X, an official adaptation of the well-known book by Japanese author Higashino Keigo. In the Netflix movie, which serves as Kareena's OTT debut, Jaideep Ahlawat and Vijay Varma are also featured.
Kareena will start filming for The Crew in March in addition to The Buckingham Murders and The Devotion of Suspect X. The movie, which was directed by Rajesh Krishnan, also features Tabu and Kriti Sanon.
