The union of Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor stands as one of Bollywood's most iconic marriages. Their love story, which played out in the public eye, charmed fans with its mix of glamour and lasting companionship. Together, they have cultivated a relationship that shines in an industry often marked by transient romances. However, before they exchanged vows, Rani Mukerji provided Saif Ali Khan with some advice, which added an interesting layer to their relationship.
In a previous conversation with Anupama Chopra, Saif Ali Khan revealed,“She said, ‘Oh, you’re going out with Kareena, I’m so happy. I’ll give you some advice. Just think of it as two heroes in the house.’ I kind of got what she meant. But now, more than ever, I go back to that advice sometimes."
Interestingly, Rani Mukerji wasn't the only one who advised Saif regarding Kareena. Before their relationship began, Akshay Kumar cautioned Saif Ali Khan about Kareena. Kareena recalled on Twinkle Khanna’s show that Akshay had sensed a connection between her and Saif. He pulled Saif aside, cautioning him to be careful, as Kareena and her family were "dangerous."
She added, “He was like, don’t kind of mess with her, was his vibe to him — that he was trying to say that, you know, you are barking up the wrong tree. Saif was like, no, no, I know that, you know, I’ve figured her out."
The love story of Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor commenced on the set of their 2008 film, Tashan. Their relationship was notably open from the beginning, setting them apart from other celebrity couples who often maintain privacy. Saif and Kareena embraced candor in their relationship.
After dating for over five years, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor married on October 16, 2012, in a private ceremony attended by close family and friends, followed by celebrations in Mumbai and Delhi. The couple are now parents to two sons, Taimur (born in 2016) and Jeh (born in 2021).
