Kareena Kapoor Khan has once again found herself at the center of controversy, facing harsh criticism from netizens for her recent photoshoot with Pakistani designer Faraz Manan. The actress was seen posing with Manan in Dubai, just days after the deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, which claimed the lives of 26 people. The attack, which has sparked national outrage, has led to heightened tensions between India and Pakistan, making Kareena's association with a Pakistani designer the subject of intense scrutiny.
Many social media users expressed their dismay at Kareena for continuing her professional relationship with Faraz Manan, a designer from Pakistan, despite the current geopolitical tensions. While Kareena did not reshare the photos on her own social media, the images quickly went viral, with critics pointing out that it seemed insensitive for her to collaborate with someone from Pakistan while the country remains a focal point of hate due to the attack. Some even accused her of not standing in solidarity with her own nation, questioning if Bollywood celebrities have any responsibility towards the country during times of crisis.
https://x.com/Starboy2079/status/1916722067074121783In response to the Pahalgam terror attack, Kareena had earlier posted a heartfelt message on Instagram, condemning the tragedy and expressing her sorrow. She wrote, "Beyond heartbroken for the victims and their families. Praying for the lives lost #Pahalgam." However, this show of empathy did little to stop the online backlash that followed her recent appearance with Faraz Manan.
The criticism comes at a time when Bollywood is increasingly divided over the presence of Pakistani talent in Indian films, with movies like Abir Gulaal facing bans due to their association with Pakistani actor Fawad Khan. Many netizens have called for a complete ban on Pakistani content, further fueling the controversy around Kareena's photoshoot.

On the professional front, Kareena continues to enjoy a successful career. She is gearing up for her next big project, Daayra, where she stars alongside Prithviraj Sukumaran. Directed by Meghna Gulzar, Daayra is slated for release either by the end of this year or in early 2026.
As for the online trolling, Kareena has not yet responded directly to the criticism, choosing instead to remain focused on her work.
