YouTuber and pilot Gaurav Taneja, also known as Flying Beast, has spoken about the ongoing controversy surrounding Ranveer Allahbadia. He questioned the disproportionate legal action taken against Ranveer, calling it unfair.
It has been nearly a week since Ranveer Allahbadia’s joke on Samay Raina’s show, India’s Got Latent, created an uproar. The controversy quickly escalated, drawing legal scrutiny. Many have shared their views, and now, Gaurav has expressed concern over the growing number of FIRs against Ranveer.
In a recent Instagram video, Gaurav admitted that while he initially supported the backlash, he now believes the situation is going too far. “When this BeerBiceps controversy first started, I thought the youth of this country was standing up for their culture and traditions, which is absolutely right. But what is happening now?" he questioned.
https://www.instagram.com/reel/DGD8LkXysbx/He pointed out that not just Ranveer, but even the show's editor and past guests have been dragged into the matter. “Police from so many states have gotten involved. I just saw that the editor of the show has been taken in. They have summoned past guests. Ranveer had to move the Supreme Court just to get his FIRs clubbed," Gaurav said, highlighting the excessive legal pressure.
Taking a jibe at the authorities, he compared the situation to holding Google CEO Sundar Pichai responsible for YouTube’s content. “Why aren’t they summoning Sundar Pichai? Because they can’t. They can only go after the weaker ones," he remarked, calling the entire situation “insane."
Gaurav further voiced his frustration, questioning the fairness of the punishment. “Now everyone can clearly see what is happening. This is not the democracy we voted for," he said, adding that justice should not be selective.
Despite Ranveer issuing an apology and YouTube removing the episode, the controversy has not settled. Samay Raina has now deleted all episodes of India’s Got Latent and assured full cooperation with authorities.
