Air India Crash: Gaurav Taneja reveals how 'extremely rare' failure could have been the reason

It is a sad day for Indians as horrifying visuals of the plane crash from Ahmedabad emerge on social media. In an extremely rare accident, a Boeing Dreamliner B – 787 crashed just after take-off from the city. Around 242 people were on board including former Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani. The flight had departed from Delhi, stopped at Ahmedabad and then left for London. The pilot is said to be an experienced one with over 8,000 kms of flying experience. Close to 10 NDRF teams have been deployed to tend to the injured, and manage the situation on ground. Everyone wants to know what could have led to this tragedy.

Gaurav Taneja aka Flying Beast who was a pilot for ten years wrote on social media that it could be a dual engine failure after take-off. He said only something of that magnitude could cause this in a modern aircraft. Taneja said complete loss of power could have made the plane sink in that manner. It fell on the hostel of a hospital where 50 – 60 interns were resting at lunch. People have died there as well. People jumped off from balconies to escape death. Visuals of smoke clouds in the air show us what a great tragedy it was.

People are saying that the angle of the flaps could have been a reason. Some said they’re at zero. The plane was at Ahmedabad airport for two hours. This means the fuel tank was full. It would lead to more deaths as the fire would be greater. Netizens also wonder if there is any chance of sabotage. The DGCA received the May Day call and later lost contact with the pilot.
