Today is Friday and get ready for the dose of freakiness that we have promised to bring you on this day of the week. While last week you kept rolling on the floor reading the funny names of the shows, today, we are here to make you hungry with these show names. We are sure you must be wondering what are we even talking about. Let us clear all your doubts. Today, we are discussing show names inspired by food.
So read on to know more...
When we are talking about food then how can we miss this national dish? Mixed with rice, pulses, vegetables and perfect blend of masala this mixture is loved by almost everybody. And when we say Khichdi the first thing that rings on our head is the Star Plus sitcom Khichdi.
Created by Hats Off Productions and UTV Software Communications the show went on to become such a hit that not only a movie was made on it but also the makers returned with season 2 and season 3. Just like the name the show was a mixture of emotions. From Supriya Pathak's bone tickling jokes to the emotional roller-coaster ride of Vandana Pathak, the show was a complete 'khichdi'.
Set in Pune, the show deals with the ideological differences between a Marathi and a Gujarati family in a tongue-in-cheek manner. Just like the traditional North Indian sweet and spicy snack, the show also has a stellar cast with different layerings and individual quirks. The clash between the two families, Marathi one headed by Deven Bhojani and the Gujarati one led by Paresh Ganatra is just tasty as the snack that is widely available in Maharashtra and enjoyed as an evening snack.
This Sony TV show starring Indira Krishnan in the lead role dealt on the life of Krishnaben who sold Khakhra. Though she was a widow with four kids much early in her life, she never let it affect her life. She took all in her stride and tried to teach good values to her children. While Khakhra is a crunchy and healthy snack that can be enjoyed with a selection of spicy pickles and sweet chutneys, Krishnaben's (Indira Krishnan) life was a mixed bag of joy and pain.
Papad is a thin crisp savoury which is typically served as an accompaniment to a meal. And sometimes also garnished with toppings such as chopped onions, chopped carrots, chutneys or other dips, and condiments to make it yummier. Well, this SAB TV show, Papad Pol, which is the adaptation of the imaginary world of characters created by renowned writer Shahabuddin Rathod is exactly like this savoury. Light-hearted yet mixed with spices that would not only make you laugh but also bring tears of joy.
Coldd Lassi Aur Chicken Masala
It is an upcoming web series starring Rajeev Khandelwal and Divyanka Tripathi in lead roles. While the show is still under the making but it is going to be a romantic saga of the two chefs. And just like the name, we can understand, the combo of the two will be lethal. While cold lassi will give you a sense of respite from the spicy chicken masala, the story also seems to be balanced with calmness and hotness. It will be only revealed later who will be as cold as the lassi and as hot as the chicken masala.
Star Bharat's Pyaar Ke Papad is a funny narration and banter between a bechara damaad Omkaar (Aashay Mishra) who is determined to win his khadus sasur Trilokinath's (Akhilendra Mishra) heart and thereby his daughter's hand for marriage. Pyaar Ke Papad is a slice of life rom-com, the kind that viewers have never witnessed on television.
The story is fresh and keeps the humour intact in every episode. Just like papad that can be enjoyed by everyone, the show is deliberately made to be a relatable family entertainment show for the audience of all age groups. Moreover, it is said that making a papad is difficult so it highlights the struggle of getting one's love.
