Ever since the saga surrounding actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death has been prevalent, every conversation has indeed been in and around that. However, the focus has pretty much entirely shifted to actor Rhea Chakraborty in the past few days. Ever since, the actor made her return to social media after not posting anything for one month and only doing it on 14th July 2020, the first month anniversary of Rajput passing away, she has been subjected to constant hate messages, rape threats, murder threats and whatnot. Chakraborty has been posting some screenshots and asking the Cyber Crime department to look into it and take necessary action on the same too.
And now, as per recent reports, Mumbai Police has registered FIR against 2 Instagram users for allegedly threatening Chakraborty and an investigation is underway. According to PTI, the FIR was registered against the 2 Instagram users. An official added that the location of these two accused remains to be traced and that the investigation in the case is currently at the primary stage. Santacruz police station’s senior inspector Shriram Koregaonkar told news agency PTI, “We registered the First Information Report (FIR) on Saturday under Indian Penal Code Sections 507 (criminal intimidation by an anonymous communication), 509 (intending to insult the modesty of any woman) and relevant provisions of the Information Technology Act.”
