Bappi Lahiri wanted Ranveer Singh to play him in his biopic, says Bappa

Bappi Lahiri was one of Bollywood's most well-known vocalists. He has given the industry so many songs that some of them are still on party mixes today. Although the well-known artist is no longer with us, his melodies and memory will live on. Wouldn't it be fascinating to learn all there is to learn about him and to see it unfold on the big screen?  

Bappa Lahiri, the late singer's son, has disclosed that he plans to film a biopic on his dad. But did you know that if a biography about Bappi Lahiri was ever created, he intended Ranveer Singh to play him? In an interview with India Today, Bappa Lahiri stated that he has always desired Ranveer Singh to represent him in his biography. 

Bappa added that when they were meeting with filmmakers and producers three to four weeks ago, the late artist voiced his desire for a biography. Bappa went on to say that Ranveer was his favourite and that he adored him. So, if anyone had to act in his biopic, he always wished it was the Bajirao Mastani star.

Bappa Lahiri also mentioned that they haven't spoken to him yet because they need to finish the screenplay and pre-production work first. He stated that they had not yet reached the point of approaching the actor. Regarding Ranveer, Bappa stated that he shares the same attributes as the late singer and that he is a huge fan and appreciates him. As a result, Bappa believes Ranveer Singh would be ideal for the role of Bappi Lahiri in his biography.
