Akshay Kumar returns as Lord Shiva in 'Oh My God 2' with August 2023 release

Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal's blockbuster hit "Oh My God" made a significant impact on audiences when it was released in 2012. Now, after 11 years, Akshay Kumar is back with the much-anticipated sequel, "Oh My God 2," a social comedy that has left fans intrigued with its initial posters. While Akshay Kumar portrayed Lord Krishna in the first installment, he will be seen as Lord Shiva in "Oh My God 2." The film also stars Yami Gautam and Pankaj Tripathi in prominent roles.

Recently, it was confirmed that "Oh My God 2" would have a theatrical release, and fans eagerly awaited the announcement of the release date. Taking to his Instagram account, Akshay Kumar delightedly shared a new poster and revealed that the film is set to hit theaters on August 11, 2023. In his caption, he wrote, "आ रहे हैं हम,आइयेगा आप भी. 11th August. In theatres. #OMG2." The poster featured Akshay Kumar in the divine form of Lord Shiva, with the release date prominently displayed in Hindi, and "OMG 2" written below. Yami Gautam also shared the same poster on her Instagram, excitedly announcing the locked release date of August 11, 2023, and inviting everyone to join them at the theaters.

With "Oh My God 2" releasing on August 11, 2023, it will face a box office clash with Rajinikanth's "Jailer" and the much-awaited "Gadar 2," starring Sunny Deol and Amisha Patel.

The sequel, "Oh My God 2," explores the theme of sex education in India. Directed by Amit Rai and produced by Ashwin Varde, Viacom 18, and Jio Studios, the film aims to shed light on this important social issue. Akshay Kumar commenced shooting for the film in October 2021 in Madhya Pradesh, and he shared the first-look posters at that time.
