With their movies, Kannappa and MAA, set to release this weekend, Akshay has shown his support for Ajay Devgn, which has been well-received online.

On X (formerly Twitter), Akshay posted a video of Kajol from MAA, tagging Ajay with a supportive message. He wrote, “Yaar Ajay hum dono ki picture aa rahi hai iss Friday. Ajay replied, “Tu Trishul leke aa aur main Maa ka aashirwad… Good luck to us both."

Akshay Kumar will have a special appearance in Kannappa, a Telugu mythological epic starring Vishnu Manchu. Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, the film includes Mohan Babu, R Sarathkumar, Madhoo, Brahmanandam, Mukesh Rishi, and Brahmaji. Akshay plays Lord Shiva, with Prabhas and Mohanlal also making cameo appearances.

Maa, directed by Vishal Furia and produced by Devgn Films and Panorama Studios, is a spin-off from the 2024 thriller Shaitaan, which featured Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan. This mytho-horror film, starring Kajol, aims to expand the horror thriller universe that Devgn is developing.
