Akshay Kumar has launched a compassionate initiative aimed at addressing the burgeoning monkey population in Ayodhya, aptly titled "Ek Chhoti Si Koshish." In a recent Instagram post, he announced that, through his generous donations and the efforts of the Anjaneya Seva Trust, over 1,250 monkeys have been provided with daily meals in the sacred city.
The increasing number of monkeys in Ayodhya has become a notable concern for local residents. Akshay's contributions, reportedly amounting to ₹1 crore, are dedicated to ensuring that these animals receive clean and nutritious food each day. This initiative is led by the Anjaneya Seva Trust, guided by Jagatguru Swami Raghavacharya Ji Maharaj. Priya Gupta, the trust's founder-trustee, emphasized that the program is designed to minimize any inconvenience to the local community.
A unique aspect of this initiative involves sustainable practices; for instance, the banana peels left behind by the monkeys are collected and repurposed as feed for cows. The cow dung produced is then utilized as manure for growing banana trees, creating an eco-friendly cycle. Additionally, Akshay has honored his parents and late father-in-law, legendary actor Rajesh Khanna, by having their names inscribed on the feeding van used for this project. His Instagram caption succinctly captured the spirit of this endeavor: "Ek chhoti si koshish…🙏"

On the cinematic front, Akshay Kumar was recently featured in Rohit Shetty's "Singham Again," alongside stars like Ajay Devgn and Kareena Kapoor Khan. He is currently engaged in filming several upcoming projects, including "Sky Force," "Shankara," "Jolly LLB 3," "Housefull 5," "Hera Pheri 3," and "Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat." Furthermore, he is set to work on "Bhoot Bangla," directed by Priyadarshan, which is scheduled for release on April 2, 2026.
