Ajay Devgn's clash with Ajay Devgn averted; 'RRR' unlikely to release on same date with 'Maidaan'

A while ago, it was one of the most-talked about instances when it was confirmed that two massive films starring superstar Ajay Devgn might fall on the same day of release thus making it a mega clash. This was condemned by producer Boney Kapoor who was upset as Maidaan was clashing with RRR, inspite of the former booking the release date ahead of time.

In times of COVID-19 where theaters hope to witness a gradual rise, this seemed a huge problem but now it seems that is not a concern anymore as this Ajay Devgn and Ajay Devgn clash is now averted. Both films that were set to release on 13th October 2021 but reports now suggest that RRR has witnessed a postponement to next year. Reports suggest that a lot of VFX work is yet to be done on the film and it might not release before April 2022. 

On the other hand, Maidaan has also been forced to have a change in plan. The Tauktae cyclone killed many people and damaged an immense amount of property in parts of India, yesterday. and Maidaan sets weren't spared. While there were no casualties on the set but the set on which Devgn was supposed to shoot a large part of the remaining film stands badly damaged, nearly to the point of complete destruction.

The remaining portion of 'Maidaan' will now be shot in October now as it needs a larger area of the ground, which is now being fast recurated and relevelled. Thus, it is clear that October 13 is ruled out for Maidaan.

Maidaan produced by Boney Kapoor and directed by Ajay Sharma, besides Devgn, stars Keerthi Suresh, Priyamani and Gajraj Rao in important roles.

RRR produced by K V Danayya and directed by Rajamouli stars NTR Junior, Ram Charan, Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt in important roles.
