Reliance Big Entertainment that was all set to distribute Nagesh Kukunoor’s ‘Aashayein’ produced by Percept Picture Company has backed up at the last moment.
This movie stars John Abraham and was launched last year just before he was to attend the Oscar Awards as Deepa Mehta’s film ‘Water’ was nominated in the Best Foreign Film category.
It’s known that Nagesh Kukunoor and Percept Picture Company felt it was the suitable time to launch ‘Aashayein’ as hype could be generated for the film for John has got Oscar’s invitation
However, the making of the film has been for a year now still has no takers. No distributor seems to be interested in the film. Reliance too was unhappy with the final product. They felt it was not upto mark though the film stars a biggie like John Abraham.
John has read the script of the film five times and the story being on an emotional subject he too got sentimental everytime he read it. However, even John has realized that the screenplay has been different from the script and due to this; there has been conflicts between John and Nagesh.
The question rises that why did Percept Picture Company, which has its own distributor network, has approached Reliance for distribution.
There are no comments for this from both the sides.
Besides, ‘Aashayein’ Nagesh’s film 8X10 starring Akshay Kumar and Ayesha Takia is also in jeopardy. This film is also a Percept Picture Company production. Akshay was upset when his schedule set up for shoot in Canada were wasted because everything was disorganized. He had even refused to reschedule the dates once again. This can be a real reversal for Nagesh.
