Priyamani's SHOCKING revealtion about cousin Vidya Balan: "We have never been on talking....."

The film world is full of surprising family ties, and one such lesser-known bond connects two powerhouse performers, Vidya Balan and Priyamani. The actors are actually second cousins, as their grandfathers were brothers. In a recent chat with CNN-News18, Priyamani revealed that despite being related, she and Vidya have never shared a close personal rapport.

“We have never been on talking terms in that way, even though we are related,” she admitted. Interestingly, Priyamani shares a much warmer bond with Vidya’s father. “Balan uncle is in regular contact with me. If he can’t reach me, he calls my father, and they end up having long chats,” she shared fondly.

While the two may not be in touch often, Priyamani made it clear that there’s deep admiration between them. “Vidya Balan is a phenomenal actor. I really miss watching her on screen,” she said, adding that she’s eagerly waiting for Vidya’s return to films.

Vidya Balan’s Last Big Hit

Vidya Balan was last seen in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, Anees Bazmee’s 2024 horror-comedy that brought back the beloved character of Manjulika. The film starred Kartik Aaryan, Madhuri Dixit, and Triptii Dimri alongside Vidya and emerged as a huge box office winner. Though Vidya hasn’t revealed her next project yet, fans are eagerly hoping for another powerful performance soon.

Priyamani’s Strong Line-Up Ahead

Priyamani, who continues to balance work across multiple industries, was recently seen in the Malayalam action thriller Officer on Duty with Kunchacko Boban. Up next, she will share screen space with Vijay, Pooja Hegde, and Bobby Deol in Jana Nayagan, directed by H. Vinoth. The political action drama is said to be Vijay’s last film before he officially enters politics and is set to release in January 2026.

The actress will also reprise her role as Suchi in the much-awaited The Family Man Season 3, alongside Manoj Bajpayee, Sharib Hashmi, and Jaideep Ahlawat. The series is expected to drop in November this year.

Despite their minimal interaction, both Vidya Balan and Priyamani continue to carve distinct paths united by legacy, talent, and a shared respect that speaks louder than words.
