Vibhuti Narayan is a young, intelligent lawyer in his mid thirties. He is born and brought up in Delhi in a reputed family of lawyers.He thinks that he is bigger than the biggest in his profession.He gets shocked when his estranged wife also joins the same court where he is practising. The main reason for his divorce was his insecurity when he realises that his wife also wants to become a famous lawyer.
Prem Kapoor is a happy go lucky judge. He doesn't carry the seriousness of a judge. He hails from a family of judges and to carry on the family tradition his father bribed the system to get him a judge's position. Neither he is capable nor deserving to be judge. He has a soft corner towards females particularly Chanda Rani. He has peculiar habit of forgetting everything whenever he performs a particular action. He is confused and can even give the verdict of "hang till death" to someone committing as small crime as theft.
